Washington Fishing

The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

Hey guys, I'm kicking an idea around.

Eastern Washington Bass Classic

A 2 day team tournament on Potholes in May, with lots of sponsor prizes and fun side pots, etc.

$200 a team

80% payback to 1/4 of field

Guaranteed $5K first place (more if more boats)

Payouts bolstered up by some sponsor dollars and prizes

The proceeds would go to support the EASTERN WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY BASS CLUB?

Along with a Lake Clean-Up/Habitat Project that you would recieve a discount from a local retailer if you participate.

With the Eastern Washington University Fishing Club starting this Fall by me, looking to get started on some fundraising, plus I think it'd be a lot of fun to run a tournament.

but honestly could you imagine how bad that boat launch would be in august with crowds and people.... i'm talking about lake wa. we get a taste of how bad it is when there is a nice weekend in may but august would be worse in my opinion with crowds, boats, and grumpy people.

I agree Chad. One thing I would like to see in the Northwest Bass tournament circuit is to mix up the schedule a bit. I realize there are only a handful of lakes that you can fish with proper accomodations but it would be fun to have the tournaments with the same lakes even at different times of the year (hint: lake washington in august). Thoughts? Any input stilen?

This year I've been more frustrated then ever with tournaments. Americanbass has changed their schedule so many times it's sick, WSBF has changed their schedule a few times, and BASS didn't even use a permit they had for Lake Washington in May! Thank you tournament directors for all you do! It's a hard job, with little to no monetary reward. With that said, when are you guys going to start listening to what the anglers wan't? When are we going to have the opportunity to vote on lakes and potential dates? Sponsorship opportunities will allways be out there even in this economy. I know this, because I helped Jordan with the raffle at the Wafish tourny, and I got a hell of a lot more yes's, than "sorry we're not able to help at this time." It seems to me that some of you are satisfied with mediocrity. Don't be afraid to ask for help! Look at what happened at the Berkley tournament; ton's of free stuff=ton's of participation! You guy's have to listen to us........With that said, I say go for it Nick! Sounds like a great idea, in which I'm sure participation will be high! These circuits aren't hurting because the little guy is screwing them over, they're hurting because they dug their own grave! People will congregate to the best product.
I personally wouldn't wan't a nwbass tournament in august for the same reason, keep it in May or change it to April? Believe it or not, I think the lake fishes smaller that time of the year, unless your fishing for 12" fish on the docks !
