My father is running a 200hp Evinrude etec and asked me to find out if he should be using an ethanol treatment in his gas.

If you are using an ethanol treatment, what are you using and how often?

Thanks,

BJ

Sta-bil at every fill up. I have had no problems with it and wouldn't run ethanol gas without.

What motor are you running?  And thanks for the reply.

I have a '92 60 hp evinrude on a 17ft Tracker. no problems. but I would still run it in a new motor. Ethanol is bad for your motor regardless of age.

My instructor said that most 76 stations are 0% ethanol gas and a few students said the same thing.  Might be worth looking into.  I haven't needed to fill up the boat since I found this out but am going to fill up with 76 the next time I need to.

I am using startron star bright it treats over a 128 gal of gas works great. I use it every time I fill up. I run a 225 etech. I buy it from walmart it only cost 9 bucks the cheapest I have found. good luck.

Bj,  I try to buy ethanol free gas when I can. When I can't Startron is what I have used, and I avoid buying any more gas with ethanol in it than needed.  check here for stations in his area, and keep in mind that while they may have used to been on this list, they do change from time to time so make sure they are ethanol free. http://pure-gas.org/

Thank you everyone for the suggestions.  I sent my Dad this thread so he can read it.
