Washington Fishing

The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

Just wondering what are some of the ways your Bass clubs raise money?  Do you hold raffles, open tournaments, yard sales?  What has worked, what hasn't?  Just looking for ways to grow our little club here on the East side of the state.

Thanks

OK, I'll be the first to speak, Western used to do a yearly raffle at the sportsman show. Profit margin was small. Rather then hold a raffle the members voted to raise annual club dues by $5.00.
our club tries to do a rest stop coffee weekend it uaually give us between 800 and 1200 a year. we also have done well with raffle at the club team tournament that we have put on for past two years.
How do I get information about the rest stop idea?

A good idea, however, with an average of only 18 members raising the dues by $5 wouldn't give use the additional moneys we are trying to achieve. Every little bit helps though.

Most Clubs have open tournaments, with raffles. The trick is getting sponsors not only to donate product but also money which doesnt have to be much. When you are thinking of sponsors the skies the limit. Try to have everyone in your club to get 2 sponsors for the tourney if everyone does this you will have 36 different sponsors. Remember sponsors don't have to be fishing related, everyone knows somebody that is a manager of something.

Open tourney
This is one of the ideas that we are talking about. I know last year this was an idea you wanted to bring to the table too. Give me a call when you get a chance and I will talk to you some more about it.

Open tourney
how about a open tournement on Entiat. i don't think it gets much pressure and theres probably some guys who would like to fish it.
I know this is something that has been discussed in the past by some people. It is definately an idea we are considering.

Speaking of an open on Entiat....assuming the timing works with the other major tournaments, how many of you would be interested in fishing an open on this stretch of the river? It would actually go from Rocky Reach Dam all the way to Wells Dam. Just attemtpting to get more info to work towards making this event happen.
