G Loomis Rod Blanks
I just bought some rods blanks at Greg's in Lake Stevens and was informed the I'd better like Lamiglas and Rainshadow ( Batson ) rod blanks as G Loomis won't sell rod blanks any more. What's up with that? If they think they can force us Joe Lunch bucket types into buying $165-$320 rods in this economy, they might be mistaken. What ever G Loomis Rod Blanks are in the pipeline is all the is,,, Anybody know who has G. Loomis blanks left???

Loomis announced this a while ago, before they had their re-tooling. With Shimano ownership, Loomis seems to be feeling the corporate pressure. Providing blanks to the custom market was not showing acceptable profit margins, so they dropped the offering. They're dealing with the sluggish economy like everyone else.
Gary Loomis started another company, North Fork Composites, which will only be selling to the custom building market. His new blanks seem to be very similar, down the naming convention and weights, to the orginal Loomis ones he created many years ago.
