Buddy has seen bass up at the far end near Staircase. The water is cold and extremely clear. Good luck!

Wes,

Hope you had a good time.  I have fished it twice. Once 20 years ago for trout, during a massive hatch, never touched a fish.

Also fished it last year on the 3rd of July. The water was down according to the folks I was staying with. I knew so little about the lake, almost bit it.  Was on plane running toward the end opposite the dam, and in 60 feet of water spotted my first topped tree a foot or so under the water.(big trees)  Got off it and brought up the motor and was in a forrest of topped trees, so on to the trolling motor.  Unfortunately had trolling motor battery issues ( turned out to be a stereo system that was sucking the power down when not charging) and so had little left it in the motor.

In around an area on the right with lots of boulders, saw some largies. Very clear water was with 5 others in the boat so was just trying to get them on fish.  They didn't catch any, but at some point half of them had taken a sandwich break so I started throwing a chrome trap and hooked a 16 inch trout.  They all wanted to throw traps at that point,  since it was the first fish caught.

If I recall everyone except one caught a trout on a trap in  about a 100 foot stretch of water in about 20 minutes, before the trolling motor gave completely out ending the day.

So the largies are there, but haven't personally caught one.  I'd suggest long casts with something tempting like a senko on fluorocarbon.
