There is an Open Tournament this weekend so unless you want to play bumper boats, I would go to Potholes !

Try hiring Mike Bess as your guide. $500 a day but it is worth it. I had about 18lbs for 3 fish last week with him driving me around. It was easy.....pitch that jig Ron made in there, cast that direction with this bait.....he is awesome on that lake. Mike knew everything about every area we fished.
Let me know if you want to get on his busy schedule, I am his agent now.
You also want to be at Mike Wolsky's clinic this week. You know the time and place.
Lloyd,

Moses Lake has been getting a tremendous amount of pressure lately from the very best anglers this State has to offer. You have to think outside the box to fool these weary fish.

Have you tried spooning? A Johnson's Silver Minnow Spoon worked through the reeds might be the ticket to tricking one of those trophy largemouth. If you hire Mike Bess as a guide, he can teach you all the intricacies of spooning. If you haven't spooned with Mike, you are missing out. I hear he is one of the best on that lake.

We know you are a progressive minded angler Tag, and are willing to experiment with a lot of different things to see what works for you, and I have to admit you do land a lot of huge ones. The biggest ones around it seems, consistently too. But I think most of us will (besides Lloyd) will be content to just take you at your word about the merits of spooning with Mike. I personally wouldn't be interested in it. It seems like you would spend most of the day trying to keep the reed from getting stuck in the spoon. Again I would defer to your knowledge of the subject having no doubt you are much more experienced in this area.
Thank you for sharing though.

I don't know, I only caught one fish on sunday though, so I can't give you any advice sorry< LLoyd, I think you should do the spooning thing with Eric, he is Mikes protege if mike is too busy spooning with someone else.
I fished for 12-3 on Sunday up in the north end. I caught 8 fish, biggest one is a new PR for me but I didnt have a scale so I have no idea how much it weighs.

He wouldn't be too busy if you'd ever let the line get moving again. Maybe when you are done you and your Mike could make Lloyd a sandwich.

Very nice fish Joel. I couldn't guess the weight but look at the shape of that fish! It looks like a rugby ball. Great job!

My little club had a one day tourney on Moses on Sunday. I officialy hate this lake for right now. I have fished it twice in my life, both this time of year, and still cannot catch more than one fish. I flipped docs, reeds and trees; Went back into pockets, cranked open water, looked for spawning flats; no luck for me but one small one. Very similar to the rest of my club and the other club that had a tourney on this lake the same day.

Now, the one guy in our club that lives in Moses and knows the lake, brought in two small mouth for a total of about 9 pounds. He knows where they are so I know they are there, I just need to spend more time and figure it out.
He also said, for the last month this lake has been hammered by people preparing for the open so the amount of pressure these fish have seen in the usual good spots that everybody knows is rediculous.
Deric and i will spoon together soon enough.
But remember....spooning always leads to forking!!!!

You should warn this Deric guy to get ready. Sounds like you two got a great thing going. Don't forget to invite Tag and Ron.
