NW BASS Banks Lake

Just wanted to see who is ready and who will be out there. I am leaving first thing Friday morning to go and fun fish on the way. Best of luck to you all and hope to see you there. Should be a great turn out. I am guessing 110 boats.

I know what you mean buy being tough we didnt have are limit tell 1:00. We pulled into are spot which usually produces a mixed bag of Smallies and Largies, all we could catch was three 3 large mouth, We watch another angler abot 150 yard away just hall them he was culling buy 7:30, when he left we slid down to look at what he was fishing, didnt catch nothing and went back up were we started. He came back and we watched him catch 2 more right off the bat. We finally finished are limit on main lake points.

I feel like I know Banks VERY well and I found fish but was having problems getting them to bite, not to mention boat issues but other then that, I dont think I would have fished to much diffrent, except a little longer at a few of my spots. Congrats to all who did well! Banks was fishing very tough. I gambled for LM a lot and it didn't pay off at all. I caught one little smallie for 1.8 lbs. Definately learned a bunch, met some cool people and had a good time. The biggest thing i learned was to pay attention to every sign the fish give you. Even though I thought I was pretty good at this, I was way too stubborn about how I was fishing at this tournament. I came into the tournament thinking the main lake would be too cold for a consistent bite, and the bays would be the place to be. i figured even if I couldn't catch a LM, there would be some smallies there too and I could at least get them to go. After 1/2 a day of zilch fishing for LM, catching a 1.8 smallie on the main lake is definately something and I feel I should have stuck the main lake bite out more. Instead I got frustrated about the size of that fish and ran back to my LM areas which I obviously didn't have figured out very well. These are thedecisions I think you learn how to make better by fishing more tournaments. Overall, it was a great experience for my first NWBass tournament though.

P.S. I really appreciate and want to thank Gary Stiles and Jeff Priester being very kind, approachable and easy to come to for questions regarding the tournaments. This really helped out with the overall experience of fishing my first NWBass tournament and got us in the water before the crowd of boats right before the drivers meeting! The NWBass tournaments are very well run!
Also, I really want to thank Brian Walters for helping me. Being able to talk to people that have done these before really helps a lot! Thanks man!

Mike and I will definately be fishing the rest of the series this year. Can't wait!
