Washington Fishing

The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

So UV light and how it is reflected is no new thing.  It seems that the UV lures/scents are becoming a bigger thing lately in the bass fishing world.  I know that the salmon lure companys have been at this for quite a few years, why is it just hitting the bass world?  Maybe I am wrong in assuming this is new to bass fishing, but it seems that its being promoted more and more lately.  Do bass see UV the same as salmon/steelhead/trout?  Do you guys read much into the UV theories?  I know that UV is far more pronounced on sunny days, where as on overcast days it really doesn't play a factor.  Is this something that goes into your patterning/selection of baits for your day of fishing?  I've seen the demonstrations on how some fish/birds see their prey and the UV reflection with their third cone of vision, and with common sense it would appear that having UV baits would make a huge difference because of that "glow" that UV light gives baitfish/natural forage.  I haven't tried any yet, just wondering if anyone has any opinions.

I guess long story short... are you buying UV baits/scents or do you see it as just another way for companies to make money?

You're awesome! You got me, how did you know? I don't even own an e chip.

Why wait for the fish to bite your lure? I usually throw the bait that they are biting currently, one of my favorites is the Lunker City Hellgie, the other that I like is from action plastics produced on the east coast and actually I will post pictures later of some hand pours that I poured myself, I will sell them all to you real cheap!

BTW you never answered any of my questions on the other posts or this one for that matter.

E Chips Waste of time. Really Im going to sit on my boat and poke these up a tiny worms rear end. Ill pass.

Fish any bait right and when the right time for the bait your using your into fish. No playing with worms and mickymousing baits needed. Just fish keep it simple its just a fish...

E chips for a Salmon rig with bait maybe but still not needed.

The discussion I think I remember was about UV Light was it not?!

Back on track now, as Marc said I have been using pro cure scents with uv, I didn't even realize it for a couple years until I started looking at my bottles that I had laying around.  Does it make a difference?  I have no clue, have a caught fish using scent with UV why hell yes.  Would I have caught more or less fish with or without the UV in the scent, who knows that answer as well, it is a guess.

This is another variable of bass fishing that could be discussed and disputed, does it help or does it hurt?  If it doesn't hurt than why not use it. It's funny when you break this bass fishing down it comes to millions of different variables to consider, I think if you get some of these right you will catch some fish, but I do think the more variables that you get right the more fish you will catch especially comparabley to another person or angler, fishing the same body of water facing the same conditions.

It does seem that this UV would be a lower on the list of variables to play with, other variables are way more important.  Here is a trick that I try to put into play, the time to figure out if it works better or worse use it when the fish are biting, too many guys don't want to change things around when they deem that they are catching plenty of fish, this is when experimenting should take place, far to often guys do the reverse, experiment when they are not biting, sometimes it works out but most of the time no confidence is gained in the experiment and the experiment gets tossed aside and forgotten.

T- Bone more like Tube Steak, you're just a big weiner, made up of crap...
