It's good to see Gene Batey on the site. i know who he is but he doesn't know me, but as a fellow tri-cities guy i would like to hear Gene's and other east siders thoughts on somethng that gripes me to no end.
that is the coasties poaching our spots after we have worked week in and week out to develop and learn them.
I can't tell you how many times i've had a coastie pull up right where I'm fishng and act as if he "discovered" the spot on his own.

Haha....Clausen must have left his GPS on all night cause he was pretty easy to get poached. Was at the game and got to see my HS alma mater star Jonathan Stewart have a solid game and the Seahawks won, so a win win for me.

Maybe Pat will think I'm talking about Luke Clausen, but wait, he is an eastsider/Southerner now, what does qualify as? Bubba?

Go Seahawks, Win the division being 8-8 or 7-9 either way i'm happy.
Well I'm sure I'll get a bunch of crap but I'm a Green Bay fan but the Seahawks looked good today but as Tag stated prior, they got 2 big games with the Falcons and Bucs.
I hate to say it,as a Packer's fan but I think the Hawks have a better chance at the playoffs.
Green Bay's division is pretty tough this year.

Oh yeah...and something about poaching
GO RAMS!!! ;)

So I live on the westside and spend all my free time on the eastside, am I a coastie or a eastsider.

I grew up on the westside but went to school on the eastside WSU. Have to make money on the westside. Am I a coastie or a eastsider?

Going to retire on the east but currently reside on the westside. Does that make me a coastie or eastsider.

If you move over do you leave behind the title of coastie? are you just a eastsider stuck on the westside?

So if you worked in Richland and grew up in tricities then had to move to the westside to survive the economy are you now a coastie?

All these seem to be parking lot topics every year :)

Personally I am tired of the coastie eastside rival BS got enough of that with UW WSU!

I'll throw in my 2 cents on poachers. They exist novice & pros and everything in between. Makes no difference east or west! Get used to it adapt and quit b*******! There's money on the line. To some people that amount of money is ethic altering, therefor they poach to think they can gain an advantage. In most case those same poachers end up mind f****G themselves. What comes around goes around. I don't like it, I just deal with it. I've had top 10 guys poach my spot when I was coming up, and I have been fortunate enough to have been doing this long enough to see allot of those things go full circle. It's great when you see a local pro :) that poached from you 10+ years ago get poached. Ouch :)

Not yet you poacher

Now I'm really confused. I grew up in Arkansas, lived in Illinois moved to Pasco, then Umatilla, then Hillsboro, then Kent. Now I'm back and living in Kennewick. I have purchased products from Gene and Rick and folks in Oregon. I guess I'm all mixed up. Ha Ha

Interesting information, and dare I point out that roughly 5 events per year are on east side lakes and only 1 per year on the west side.

I also wonder how many total participants are east side and how many are west side, but I don't want to hurt Gair or Lisa's brain too much.

ciao,
Marc Marcantonio
P.S. I get a kick out of guys whining that I am a coastie, after whining because I came from California, after whining because I came from Maryland, after whining because I came from Germany, after whining I came from Delaware where I started fishing tournaments.

Gene,
I'm a coastie, does this still mean were friends? You and I have had many personal discussions on this topic. You know that I have spent more hours and money fishing eastside water than west. I don't believe my integrity has ever been questioned. We all know that individuals will do stupid things on account of money and ego. In the end, all I want people to remember me by is that I was an O.K. guy willing to help others.

I don't know who this Pat guy is, maybe you should give him a little education on ethics. I believe he wll be easy to pick out next year, I'm sure his boat will be sporting the new "Team Pampers" boat wrap.

Dana A. Steiner

Its pretty bad when you have someone run within eyecontact and you watch them push that magic little button, and its really bad when you can even here it.If you ever wonder why the same people are always in the money its becuase they find fish where ever they go.They know how to read water and a graph. And no,its not the coasties or the easties, its just a poacher. And they know who they are.The poachers that do what they do will never make it as a true Bass fisherman. What ever happened to sportsman like conduct.I remember the days when you pulled up and someone was on a spot you just went and found where nobody was fishing. Now days they just crowd in.They don,t get that nobody there is going to win.Its getting to be a joke.Or when you catch a fish and the next thing you know there are five boats around you. These guys are poachers to.

But I think I got you on the Senko ,I even had a Fenwick.I am getting pretty old.Ha Ha
I thought this was a Great thread...One that will go down in infamous history...Good info Gary, and you were right when you said it was gonna get bad!
