Derek? I haven't had a weekend away from fishing since I don't know when, so this one is for the wife, but if you don't find anyone, here's some tips on Riffe. Its unlikely you'll find bedding fish, so play the post spawn game. Crank the points and ledges and drag the flats and ledges. I'll assume you'll be launching at Kosmos, theres lots of good spots to fish on that end. Depending on water level you can call 888-502-8690 option 3 to get the water level, full pool is 778 feet, which if you have a Navionics chip will give you a good idea from Google earth what is and is not in the water. Fair warning there is typically a lot of wood floating in the water this time of year. If you start coming into it Slow down there will be lots more coming. I recommend you have full daylight before doing any time travel.
Drag your yamamoto 176 and 297 colors in 4" grubs and 2"-3"tubes on dropshots, carolina rigs or footballs. I like cranks like a Norman Deep little N in 181BP color or Bomber A model in Dark Brown craw this time a year.
Good Luck, and have fun,
Steve
Steve, thanks for the info it will come in handy I am sure! Heard the wind can get nasty their too, hopefully it don't get too bad! Just wanna get a reliable gameplan going for my tournament!
Thanks again

Derek,

No doubt, another good reason to fish the end you launch from. If your launching from Kosmos the only good quality fishing on the Dam end is Swafford valley and the various creek channels on that end but on the north shore of the lake, so unless your curious focus on the Kosmos end. Have seen some real wicked winds, lightning, but if its this weekend it looks like your gonna have a beautiful day. Very typically you will have afternoon wind that blows up and around the corner from the W - SW directly back into Rainey creek. Its great for the hangliders coming off Dog Mt, but can make getting back to the launch interesting.

Gotta run,

Steve
dont dreed the wind at riffe it can turn fishing on on top of those flats as fish move up to feed.

troy
don't dreed it but be wurry of it it can be down right nasty for a boat under 19 ft but with that said i'm a jealous dude. good luck your gonna love it don't be to surprised when you think ya got a good one and it's not even a keeper. see ya at the meeting.
