Washington Fishing

The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

For everyone that atteneded the Sportsman Show and took in a seminar, what 1 thing did you learn and think that you will use the most in the next year. This could be anything, from a bait including how to fish it what color, or where to use it, or it could be how to rig a certain technique, or maybe even something philosophical.

I think this overview will be great for the guys that could not make it.

This thread is not meant for giving a guy props, lets not overdue it and fill the board with this, add a comment to their page if you think a good job is in order, lets stick to what you took away from these seminars.

Well, the first thing I learned is that you can out talk all the others. I thought Marcantonio was gonna climb up and drag you down from there! Seriously though, the point you made about matching the color of the lake bottom, was great. I have never thought of it that way. You packed alot of info into that hour! I really enjoyed the finess seminar that Maderos put on. Seeing the application of some of the techniques that I have yet to try was very helpful. Everyone put on a great seminar, and I really appreciate that you guys all take the time to share your knowledge with us! That's my favorite part of the sportsman show.
I'm just messin' with ya man. You packed alot into that hour. You picked a subject that could have easily filled an 8 hour seminar.

I'd like to have been able to have seen the seminars. My drunkass buddies had different ideas and I missed out. Thanks anyway to the efforts put out by all the speakers.
I only had time for two seminars. I watch Ron's and Mark's. Ron's jig seminar made me think more about down sizing. Adding bulk and up sizing. Such a simply thing I don't do enough! Mark's seminar I got a laugh. The kids were going crazy watching the bass that ate his prop swim around in the tank. I think he also culled during his seminar? Most importantly I learned I should have a hand full of goto dropshot baits and cycle through them. Ever 10 minutes or so. Thanks speaker's!!!

I was lucky enough to sneak away from the Limit Out Marine booth to catch Mark Maderos seminar on the winter smallie techniques. Enjoyed it quite a bit. Learned a few things myself even though I have fished with mark several times during the winter.

Russ

so what you are saying is that mark talks about stuff in his seminar he doesnt' do when he is actually fishing?

Stranger than that, Pat, is that Mark wasn't wearing his mask during the seminar.  Go figure.

To all that came and watched all the seminar's thanks.  I hope there was plenty of good info shared and people were able to get some new idea's to try.  To Pat, I extended an invitation to come by and watch any of my seminar's.  Did you make it?  Also, I have an open invitation to come fish with me any time.  Like I said, I will be over in the Tri cities area in April and Boardman in June.  I will gladly have you along to fish.  And I won't even ask to go to any of your spots.

Pat or is it Delay I'm speaking with. There was a couple of things regarding weight size he throws I had forgotten about.
