Washington Fishing

The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

I've heard stories about bass fisherman down South getting together say every Thursday evening for example and putting ten bucks in the pot and fishing a short 3 or 4 hour tourney.  Do we do anything like that here in Washnigton?  Are we allowed to do anything like that here in Washington?

Say for example we say every Thursday evening there will be a tourney on Washington from 5-8:30.  Ten bucks to get in, 5 for first and 5 for big fish.  Something like that...would that be something guys would be intersted in?  Is it even possible?  Do we even have enough guys intersted?  What are your guy's thoughts on this?

Chad, doing something like this on American lake would be really cool for the summer. Even if its just a fish in I bet you could have a great turn out. Maybe even just get one permit and try it out. The local clubs would help spread the word and get participation up. I can already think of 10 people that would be interested.
Just my two cents...I play poker every month at my house with a group of guys yet gambling is illegal in Washington.....With that said, what's wrong with some guys just "showing up" to a lake and fish'n ;-)
Its illegal to speed. People still do it.

Disclaimer: I do not advocate speeding, and I am in no way, shape, or form suggesting that you should do a "fish-in" with un-advertised money changing hands. You most certainly will be caught if you engage in these activities and you can be punished unmercifully for these actions.
Since it has been said that this site is watched by a few in the WDFW, if it is advertised that money is changing hads, we are going to get caught and punished. If a bunch of guys show up and have a big fish fish-in, for no prizes other than bragging rights, it should be fine. They can't do jsck if a bunch of guys show up and go fishing on the same body of water at the same time and compare fish in the end. I would be down for an evening on American.
What's the 1st rule of fight club...
Our club used to have Tuesday night fish ins at the smaller lakes around Snohomish County. Mostly small no gas motor lakes and it was alot of fun... It got to the point though where only like two or three people would come so it got dropped, I miss it, is a great way to break up the week...
