As some of you know, I have been fighting a major illness now for 1 1/2 years, so I haven't fished as much as I would have liked, plus at the Divisionals in New Mexico I grenaded the lower unit and just got the boat back a week ago.  But what little fishing I have done this year has been ok.  Some early tourney sucess, was doing ok at the divisional until day 3, we will see what the rest of the year holds.  Next year I plan to get back to full tourney mode and fish BASS qualifiers and either ABA or NW bass again.

The good side is that I am starting to get somewhat healthier and can actually enjoy the fishing and not have it hurt nearly as much as it was in the past.

Looking forward to the Mickleson Open, the Frostbite and the club team tourney at the end of the years.

Overall the worst fish to catch ratio, I have personally experienced but it appears to be the case for most this year. Like most would like to get out more, but maybe next year. Just hoping to finish strong  and come into next year on a high note.

It's been a year of ups and downs for sure. The tournies I've fished in have either been really good, or really bad. I hate Sammamish! I fished Riffe for the first time, and learned a lot. I fished Alder for the second time ever with Steve, and actually caught fish this time. The wierd spring really made things challenging. My father, and I had one awesome prefish day on Washington which I won't soon forget! Soldier fishing event was great as allways, and I enjoyed fishing after the event with Steve and Johnny. When Johnny sets the hook you better duck is all I got to say! Enjoyed some good days on the water with my oldest daughter, Mackenzie "4 1/2". Really enjoyed our week long camping trip to eastern washington with family, and great friends. Did a lot of fishing while we were there, and learned a lot as well. I couldn't believe there was so many largemouth still spawning in such warm water in early July. We all caught a big one, and tons of quality fish, topped by Steve's 6-4. I really have cut back signifcantly, which has made me appreciate the time I do get to fish. Looking back, I do regret not experimenting more when I used to fish all the time "pre kids", and taking better notes. It's tough to do much experimenting with such limited time on the water these days, and what's even worse is that I have so many ideas! Luckily my father has been out prefishing for us on Washington for the aba this month. Good topic Travis, and keep reeling in those TOADS!
