Washington Fishing

The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

Do any of you find it ridiculous that during the cold weather months, they show stuff like Ice fishing for panfish and walleye, or they show big game hunts like theres no tomorrow 24/7 on the outdoor networks like VS, outdoor network, etc...

Is it just me, or does it make sense that in the winter months, people are jonesing for warm water fishing opportunities, and therefore they should be showing those when its cold, since we can't live it.  yet in the summer I will get off the water after catching a bunch of bass, and find a bunch of bass fishing shows that I have no interest in watching since I just got done with that.

Why show ice fishing, and duck hunting in the winter, when I can easily go out and do that?  It seems to me that people want to watch the stuff on TV when they can't do it.  If they can go out and do it, then why sit at home and watch it?

Then again, what do I know.

I am pretty crappy with a fire arm. That's why I shoot em with sharp sticks.

Do you shoot them with sharp sticks so that you have an excuse for not killing anything?

I've always wondered why someone hasn't come out with a reality "Day in the life" kind of show. The closest thing is showing someone wax down their boat or something. It'd be awesome to follow a guy like Iaconelli for a few months on the trail.

Though Ultimate Match Fishing is one of my favorite shows, thats the closest you get to "reality" style TV Show.

Even Bennie Spies can shoot a rag horn buck over a 50 pound pile of corn, how's your luck been?

Ronnie,

I did not shoot a "rag horn" as elk season has been closed for quite a while. Neither did I shoot a young buck. I would stick to the fishing topics if I were you.

Congratulations!

Bet it made you feel like a real man, and just think you got a two for one, killing that 1 deer is like taking two deer out of next years population! You are the man.....j/j

I felt like a conservationist. More guys that have the option of shooting a doe should excercise that option. More deer is not the answer to better deer hunting. In a state that has a very disproportionate buck to doe ratio the best thing we could do is kill more does and let young bucks walk. That is exactly what I do. I won't shoot a buck under 4 1/2 years old. I wait to for the opportunity to kill a mature buck and if that doesn't arise I harvest a doe. Most guys egos are too big to shoot a doe. The harvest of immature bucks is not helpful to deer populations. Your line of thinking is way out dated. Like I said before....stick to the fishing stuff.
