The tentative 2013 NW Bass schedule is posted on Nixon's Facebook page. I'm not on "the facebook" but it was forwarded to me by a friend who is. The good news is, despite all the talk of Gary hanging it up after this year, he will be back to run it again in 2013. That is not a rumor or gossip but directly from his mouth. Here is how it stands today.
April 13th Banks Lake
June 8th Potholes
July 13th Tri-cities
August 10th Umatilla/Boardman
Championship Sept 21-22 TBD
The first glaring point is that there is no May tournament scheduled. I am personally dissapointed we won't be on Lake Washington in May but understand why. The second is there are only 4 qualifying events scheduled. Any thoughts? I spoke with Gary for a while today and he wants to hear what all of us think and says that nothing is final. It sounds like the condensed schedule is due to lack of participation this year. Some believe it's because there were too many events scheduled this year. I personally believe it has more to do with folks finances than schedules but this is the feedback Gary wants to help make a good decision on the schedule next year.

I think 1 a month is ok. There were 2 in May last year which may have been a reason to the lower turnout. Just a guess. I did like the move to CDA though. Washington is always in May. Maybe need a change there. Tri-cities in May would be cool with Washington in July.
I like the schedule the way it is. I was a no-show this year on the NW, for a number of reasons. With this proposed schedule, I am excited to once again come out and participate. Fewer qualifying events is probably a good thing for the fishermen as well as the hard working people behind the scenes ( Gary, Lisa, Kathy, Jeff, Chase and the others) The other tournament conflicts this year may have caused lower turnouts , along with the other topics discussed here such as gas prices, locations, etc, but as has also been stated before here.....The NW bass fishermen will come out and support the NW trail. It is by far the best option and more organized choice than others, with more payout , better fishermen, and the reputation of being the choice to make. I will definitely be back this year and will support Gary and JEff and the Sponsors that help put on the tournaments. They deserve more credit than they get as well.
My 2 cents to Gary for next year...is continue the good work and don't worry about any nay sayers as you will have the support of the faithful. You can't please everyone.

I am dissapointed that LK WA wasn't included in next year's schedule, but understand why. Other than that, I actually like the schedule and hopefully can fish them all which is something I've never done before. I think by eliminating some events, it will make it more managable for all involved. I'm just happy we still have NWB around...
I think the Championship location should be kept a secret until a week out.
I'm new to Northwest Bass, but I like the idea of a (4) Qualifier Season. As an angler, having a couple of 'drops' is nice just in case schedules do not agree with each other, but then again, If I were Gary and Lisa, I would want to see increased support.
Personally, I would really like to see Coeur d'Alene on the list. This year's tournament was so fun and the weights were high - it's hard to beat CDA around the spawn. I don't have much experience on any of these lakes, so I'm just thankful that I can participate.
First Amendment. [This is of course if you're asking me Josh lol]

I'm as sad as anyone to see Lake Washington go; however, I completely understand why. I hope to be back in the swing of things *no Bess I'm not a swinger* next year! I like the idea of keeping the championship a secret, but a secret of that magnitude would be hard to keep! I think it would also be cool to see another "wild card" lake, as opposed to the same old stuff! I do like the shorter schedule.
You should like the schedule as half of it is out your back door! I also happen to know you are a closet SM lover. We should end up with a huge Tri-cities area contingency.
