Looks like an awesome day on the water!!
i throw sunfish swimbaits as well as trout and perch swimbaits. with swimbaits clear water is nice because the fish can track it from a while away and it draws them in better. If you are throwing a swimbait in the dirtier water then you just need to make sure it thumps to give off that vibration. I like the paddletails or boottails in both clear and dirty water for the vibration they provide.
Austin,
What type of soft swimbaits do you prefer and colors,, I always read about the donkeys they are catching in Calif with trout patterns. Is this what you are throwing too. And do you feel you need clear water for a bass to hunt down the swimbait?
All depends on the swimbaits. I use 20lb flouro for most my 6in swimbaits on just my flippin stick with a curado 7:1. Then i have an 8ft dobyns 6 power for my bigger swimbaits with a calcutta with braid. I will throw a swimbait pretty much anywhere i can.
Nice fish,,
I am wanting to learn more about swimbait fishing, what do you recommend for lines, baits, reels and areas to throw swimbaits?
I also like how Clark smiles. Makes me want to believe he is human and not just a bass catching metal substructure with tissue like exoskeleton.
Caught em all on soft swimmers. But man they sure ate em well. The strikes were nothing short of vicious.
Nice guys, haven't fished that lake in years. Some great fish
nice work guys. Good looking specimens! did the fish prefer hard or soft swimmers?
