I beach my boat on the ramp for the back seater to jump on. Have a bow protector so does not hurt boat. Safer than ice skating on the "docks".

I don't have any issues with that launch. The docks can be slippery at times, but manageable.

Them slippery docks do make for a good laugh when your backseater steps off your boat to get the tow vechicle and slides across the dock like a hockey puck on ice, ker splash!!!

Some do and some don't have a sense of humor. Some of these guys had their personalities extracted at birth. It appears you have a sense of humor and that will go a long way.

Being new here, if I learned anything, fishermen have a sense of humor.

I feel for you man. My fishing partner caught a 30 pound bag at a lake on the east side last weekend and I was really excited to fish it until I got there. The dock at the launch was so crappy I turned around and went to a really nice launch at another lake. I didn't get bit at that lake but the 30 seconds I spent at the launch was so enjoyable that I didn't even care about the other 11 hours I spent not catching fish.

This sport is really all about the launching experience anyway. If you catch fish it's just a bonus.

Gotta say, they are slick but what dock that is full of goose shit and has water on would not be. People just need to pay attention, how many tournaments have we had there when the docks are under a foot of water... and we have not had any problems. I think it boils down to what Ron said people just need to learn how to back a boat in and they really need to figure that out before doing in on a Sat afternoon with 40 boats behind them. That launch frustrates the hell out of me due to the number of people that have no idea how to launch, pull out or just plain read directions.

Great lake to fish so all in all I would not let that stop me from going.

I agree with Ron. Never have a problem myself, but then again I get out and look first where the ramp is; and I expect wet boards to be slippery.

I don't even notice, what do these people expect WA State Parks have no money. I bet they would really bitch if it cost $20 to launch like at Gene Coulon at Lake Washington.
This being said I launch my boat a ton of places that don't even have docks, maybe the parks dept. should just remove the docks then the people couldn't complain about how crappy they are.
The docks really aren't that bad. As far as the stripes not being painted, maybe they should get out and look before backing in like a normal person, or just plain learn how to back a boat in. You should see the circus that these boaters put on, it is borderline embarassing.

They have been like this for a long time, never stopped me from fishing the lake since it is the only public launch on the lake...
