So what color is the 110? I use a lot of green pumpkin. Can not remember the number. Tape worms have been a go to bait for me.

Hey Joel, Did you make it out to Stevens this week?

I only threw my Triple Trout for 5-10 minutes. It seemed to swim on its side a little, but didn't want to go reefing on the line tie to tune it until I asked Bavery if he has ever done it. You can test MS Slammers this way, and its a wooden bait so hopefully its ok to do so. I tryed to twitch the bait to get it to 180, but I kept getting the line in the hooks. It will take some practice. Use yours yet ?

Sounds like a tough trip you had a Roosevelt. I hope it goes a little better for us, but I don't have too high of expectations. As long as I have 2 nice days of fishing with ruining my lower unit or something, I'm fine haha. Me and a friend went to Terrell on the 4th, only one frog fish was caught by me. That lake is entirely too weedy and sloppy for my taste. I'll let you know how we do at Roosevelt.

That is Lundeen Park, and yes you should find smallies bedding there too. That area is best from the end of the park back to the east almost all the way to the point. I have never done well on that western edge, but I have never put much time into it.

Flats and docks, with some sort of fish looking bait. I like to throw a small swim bait and just cover water. Drop shot worked really well also. As for locations, kinda by the statue of liberty dock, that is a good spot, its on the west kinda north side. Just north of the pay launch. Feel free to give me a call to

Hey Joel,
Big Lake should be pretty good tomorrow. im fishing a club tournament on Samish or I would probably be out there. I haven't fished it as much lately but I lost two over 6 last week. I always fish the South half of that lake as I have never caught one out of the North half. Any of the docks south of the launch have potential if you figure out what depth they are holding in. I love Pitching jigs, brushhogs, double wide beavers and Senkos to these. The big fish I lost last week were hitting senkos in the pads between docks. If its bright out though make sure to hit the docks when the Sun is on the water. The isolated older docks and wood on the extreme south end has been good to me too. Good luck! Let me know how you do!

Thanks for the info. I've heard the same thing about the fish being behind from where they were last year. I'm heading over tomorrow, and the weekend after for a club tournament. I hope the NW Bass tourny left some fish behind for the little guys haha. It should be fun, sunny and a high of 70 too.

Hey Joel,

I'm glad you remember me. Nice to be one of your friend on this site. The last time I fish Terrell was last Friday morning. It was good. I only fish it for a few hours but we manage catch at least 15 fish. The two biggest was 6.3 and 5.4lbs. the rest was in the 2-4 lbs range. I had to take my friends and their kids trout fishing after that.
The water level had dropped at least 2ft. by now. I noticed it was lower than before. I think this week will be great. The water temp is in the high 50's now. I'm pretty sure that some of the fish is spawning right now. If you have chance to get out there this week target the Lilly pads, that where I got most of my strikes.

Take care

Kun

Joel,

Thanks and yeah I can help a little. Your in luck, I just fished Long Lake on Tuesday.
The first thing to know is that the 2 decent public launches are closed until May 15th. There is a public launch at the Little Spokane river but I wouldn't launch there. Its fast moving water and a lot of prop busters under there. I was able to launch at a private place called Willow Bay Resort and it was pricey - $15.00.
Fishing was good but not quite great. In about 2-3 weeks it will be on!
The water in the main lake is 48-49 degrees and the bays were 53-54 degrees and they are pushing water through the lake so there's alot of debris coming down river.
That being said - I caught 5 very nice smallies on cranks in 6-10' of water down lake from Tum Tum. There's some shoreline down there that has cool under water points and flats. I used a very slow stop and go retrieve. I caught twice as many squaw fish as I did smallies down there.
Back up by Tum Tum you'll find a pretty large bay with houses and docks. The water was 53 degrees and I was able to coax 2 LMBs to hit small jig/trailer combo - bitsy bug with plastic craw. The LMB are still very spooky and there isn't alot of cover yet.
If you go up river/lake from Tum Tum, I say this becuase that's the only launch open, you can duplicate this.
If I were to stress anything right now - slow cranks for smallies and jig/pig or senkos for LMBs.
Look for flats and cover - the smallies will be pushing up to these flats and the LMB in that lake love structure and cover.
Obviously this is not gospel, but I am fortunate enough to have had some success there.
It is actually my favorite lake in the whole state to fish - I wish I lived there.
June and July are a couple of great months to fish there. You can easily have 30 LMB bass day with some real pigs!!

Good luck and let me know if this helped!

Mike

Hi Joel,
The very short answer to your question to Stevens is HELL YES! Spend some time out there. Truly a trophy smallmouth lake.
