Washington Fishing

The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

Clint Johanson is currently in Harborview Medical Center recovering from a brain aneurism he suffered while on a rafting trip with his wife Stephanie. Clint was initially taken by ambulance to a Yakima area hospital and then airlifted to Harborview Medical Center for treatment. Doctors were able to stop the bleeding in his head and inserted a tube into the top of his head to drain fluid and relieve the pressure. As of Monday afternoon Clint’s wife Stephanie said Clint is continuing to improve and she is encouraged by his latest progress. The doctor reported that while he was checking in on Clint on Monday Clint was able to tell the doctor his own name which was the next important step the family has been waiting on. Clint’s family has been by his side at Harborview day and night ensuring he is receiving the best care possible. Clint is a well-respected member of the fishing community and the original founder of the Washington River Runner’s Bass Club in the Tri-Cities. Be sure to keep Clint and his family in your thoughts and prayers for a full and speedy recovery.

Wow - that hits close to home in our community. I had the opportunity to hang around with Clint this year at a few ABA's and he is a heck of a nice guy (and a little crazy after hearing some of his stories). My thoughts and prayers are with Clint and his family. Thank you for the notice Richard, Please keep us updated as you hear.

Clint and I have been fierce competitors at tournaments for more years than I care to admit. There was a day that I thought he and I would be more likely to go bare knuckle, instead of only competing on the water. Through the years, I came to understand and respect this mans competitive nature as a fisherman and a man. My energy is now focused on his complete recovery and hopes that he and his family will be OK. Get well my friend, you and I still have some great years ahead to continue our competition.

Richard,

Please keep us updated and let me know if any help is needed for the family.

Respectfully,

Dana Steiner

I will make sure to update on Clint's recovery for sure. I heard from his wife Stephanie this afternoon and he is slowly improving but thus will take time.
I was able to spend some time with clint at divisionals, and my first experience with Clint was him telling me how big of a dumbass I was for sticking fish in practice. He was right.... And I respected his blunt nature. He showed me a couple things that were contributing to his success that tournament, and he certainly didnt have to.

I pray for a speedy recovery. Clint is a tough guy. If anyone will recover its him.
I had a great time hanging out with Clint during a few of the aba's this year. I really enjoyed his stories and willingness to share fishing knowledge. Get well soon Clint looking forward to seeing you back on the water
I've known Clint for over 25+ years tournament fishing and other things. He's a great friend and a good man.
My prayers are with you my friend.

God bless and get well soon!

Bill
