Hey, guys. I'm trying to figure out what went wrong this weekend on Silver. I was without my trolling motor and was unable to fish shoreline without getting blown into the shore. I ended up anchoring in the inlets and fishing them, I saw a couple rise but nothing hit my bait... I figured the bass would be headed to the shallow inlets but clearly, that was wrong. I was using a white chartreuse spinnerbait, a square bill crankbait, and I threw my green yellow booyah frog. I didn't even get a nibble! Is it too early for them to be shallow still or am I missing something else obvious? Thanks for any help, I am going to go back out next Saturday and I am hoping to have better luck, and a trolling motor.

Hi Shane,
Silver is an excellent lake for largemouth and tiger muskie. It sounds like you were at a disadvantage with no trolling motor for sure because all of the baits you mention are great there.
I do not know which inlet you are referring to, but the shallow end on the south is usually the best area for bass with all of the grass there.
The north end by the public ramp can also be good along the rocks by the road and then here where the water comes up to 16 feet in the lower middle of the screem. There are tons of underwater points, humps and rockpiles on this lake that are great for deep cranking.
Good luck!
