We were using ultra light spin tackle for founder and caught quite a few, the biggest about 5 feet from nose to tail. They're a blast on 6 lb test with a little pan fish rod, and pretty prolific in the sound, awesome intro into saltwater fishing for my girlfriend. Be good as well for kids with no intention span
