Hey Marc, maybe you can help some of us younger guys out.  Is that what bass boats looked like back in the 1930's?

The same thing that happened to Ricky Gervais at the Golden Globes.  Make some intelligent, truthful and witty commentary to spark some laughs, lighten the mood, and take the monotomy and boringness out acceptance speeches and some people just don't get it or think it's funny.  With that being said though, I don't do my part to help lighten the mood on here.  It's just not me and I would suck at it if I tried!  There are others that are so much better at it so have at it!  I don't mind when someone else does though as long as it is done in an intelligent and witty matter and there is some backing to what they say.  If they are just doing it for no reason though, then I feel it becomes a problem. Even when people have taken shots at me, it just cracked me up and was usually spot on and I knew it too!  In my opinion, life is way better if you can laugh at yourself.  You can learn a lot about yourself that you might not normally think about in doing so as well.  No one is perfect!

I'm sure theres more going on then I'm aware of. I certainly miss Delay,Sessler, Bess,Sparky and Misanthrope. I know I'm forgetting a few....

Now I know a few of my friends are probably pissed that I've said that but so be it. Just seems like the fun is out of it to some extent.These guys provided some humor and tips that I certainly appreciate.

With that said,this site is still by far better than anything else out there and I hope I see more return.

This is only my $.02 and probably worth even less.

The evolution of this site is good for some and not so good for others. For every one of us that wishes it would revert back to the way it was there is another that is glad it is the way it is. I wish it was still ball busting and jokes but there are too many people now. The more people you invite to a party the greater chance you are going to end up with a few candy asses. That is just the way it is.

 

I am glad I got tuned in early because some of those characters have become some of my best friends and I would have never met them had it not been for Wafish. Prior to this site I had never met Eric, Mike, Jon, or Ron. I speak with each of those guys on a regular basis and value there friendship. They have all since been banned with the exception of Ron. I have met some other great folks as well that are still here and I have fished with lots of them. They are great guys that contribute to this place but they are not the guys that make you pee your pants laughing.

 

I will still visit the site in the off chance that one day some guys will be wearing their BIG BOY pants and we can have a few minutes of fun.

I try to respectfully regulate myself as much as possible for everyone's benefit.  It works better sometimes than others :).

Just to clear things up a little, there were only 2 people banned that caused real problems amongst the majority of members, neither of which used their names I'm sure you can figure out who if you were here. This was done in the best interest of the website and my personal time to be honest. Lots of emails, calls, complaints, moderation, etc... Although I must say I found alot of it funny too.Eric Delay is still a member on this site (http://www.wafish.com/profile/PlatinumRoofing?xg_source=profiles_me...) he's just gone MIA. Sessler, Reimers, Bess, Sparky all deleted their accounts for whatever reason which was their choice.

 

I'd love to see people put on their big boy pants too and drop the pampers. I think it's great that we can joke around on here, but we have to realize we have all sorts of people on this site now, beginning anglers to tournament guys that flip each other shit all the time. I think we can all agree that there needs to be some kind of balance.

 

I really enjoyed how the site started and still enjoy it. This sites been great for me and many others to meet TONS of new people, fish with new guys, learn a bunch and laugh a bit. It is definitely different than other sites and I'd like to keep it that way. I'm always open to suggestions though.

  Thanks Jordan. I did say banned and I shouldn't have. I know why they decided to disengage from the site and I don't necessarily agree with them on that either. Those guys were pretty funny dudes (except Bess who is an absolute retard) and all of them are extremely nice guys. I believe a couple of them were pretty decent financial supporters as well.

 

  I think it's a shame that people are so thin skinned. Like I said before I had never met any of those guys until I railed Delay in a post one day. He sent me a pm and told me it was funny and offered to help me fish Lake Washington. The offer turned out to be useless because he couldn't catch water if he fell out of a boat but we became really good friends after that. Same thing with Sessler; I accused him of being a liberal coomunist on his page and we became friends after that.

 

 I'm not saying everyone should try to be funny (especially not you Ron). I appreciate some of the more serious posts like the one that Houge started about "secrets". Those topics are interesting... all I would say is the next time you start a "what is your favorite colored fishing hat" topic and some wise ass like me busts your balls a little don't immediately become defensive.

The dude that started this topic wasn't complaining about a lack of activity. He was complaining that it had become boring....did you read the post?

Right..... but the guys that added most of the funny content to the site have deleted their accounts. That means they won't be back regardless of seasonality.

Well said, I fully agree. It's a shame they left, but I'll still chat with them when I see 'em. Definitely good dudes. Also, I'm sure Delay would be glad to see that a spell check has been added to the forum that will underline your misspelled word in red in an effort to minimize the number of spelling mistakes. He was like a grumpy English teacher...
