Larrick very good topic, it really makes me think where I would want to go fish, it seems that I have been fortunate and blessed enough to have gone to many of the places on alot of guys lists, some I would like to go back to, but I think I would like to go places where I could employ or fish something different than I have fished before.  So my list will consist of something that I want to fish but I still have to find the lake and the time of the year to fulfill it.

1. Standing timber, I want to fish big trees flipping jigs into them over deep water, spinnerbaits, cranks, I just have not been somewhere where this was the thing.

2. Deep Hydrilla, I am talking 20+ feet of hydrilla for big largies, I forget but the guys I think in texas target big fish schools on these hydrilla beds and they can put 25# in the boat in like 5 minutes, I think they call it fishing the scratch or rubs I know it was a deer hunters term.

3. The Nasties, I am talking springtime fishing at its best fishing flats that look like flooded cowpastures with all different types of weeds sticking out. I want to throw skinny dippers and buzz frogs, The only place I have seen this cover on TV was Okochobee so it might be my only choice.

4. Ledges, and I want to catch two big ones on a deep diving crank, kind of like Timmy Horton on Kentucky Lake a couple years ago.  I also want to throw big spoons  and big worms, and I want the fishing fast and furious.

5. Open Water Smallies chasing smelt, not that I haven't done this but I haven't done it in the summer......yet, I want Koto to take me and show me how to do it, again the main lake for this one would be Erie.  I have no interest in dragging tubes, I want to catch suspended 6 pounders relating to bait schools, on drop shots.

The craziest thing is that I hope that I have alot more time to change my bucket list because this is bound to change, besides I think that there are alot more species of fish I want to catch than more places to catch bass.

1. Cuba - Next world record largemouth is likely

2. Pantanal Brazil - Peacocks Bass, Pentadu

3. Lake Victoria - Nile Perch

4. Mongolia - Giant Tiamen

5. Billabongs of Australia - Black Bass Tournaments

Sugar Lake with Hobbs was an adventure, but those federali's  were no joke!

Good reply Ron, and I know that a lot of those can be fulfilled on one Lake in Texas.....Lake Fork has deep timber, ledges and deep hydrilla.  So does Toledo Bend.....Maybe we should try to plan a trip .

I want to find the next Falcon Lake, you know there is another lake down there somewhere that no one is talking about that puts out giants and numbers. Its kind of the lakes that Tag fishes and catches giants out of and always fails to mention the names and if he does the background doesn't look like anything on that lake! LOL

for chirst's sake is this the only lake in texas, or the only one you have ever been to?

to ron: instead of travelling to texas with Jeff, i could smash your reel hand with a hammer, it would probably be less painful

1. Falcon

2. Choke canyon

3. Guntersville

4. Champlain

5. Toho

I would say I'm fishing for bass, and those would be the by-catch...

The first Mexican Big Bass Lake was Guerrero.......but it is further inside the border and not very safe to travel to.  That place was on Fire in the 80's and 90's.  There are a few Power Plant Lakes also there that are Bass factories.

I heard that there are major problems on Falcon and Amistad with the Pirates as well as boat thefts.  My dad had his Plates stolen off his boat trailer last time he was there....and when he went to buy new ones, they told him that they averaged 8-10 per week.  They stayed at the Velvicks resort on the Texas side too.

Barrett Lake which is SE of San Diego was the best bass lake I've ever fished. It was on the lottery system when I lived there in the early 90's. It wasn't uncommon to have a 100 fish day.
