Washington Fishing

The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

Hi everyone... just found this site and im so glad I did. My wife and I moved up here from California about six months ago and I'm looking for ANY local advice and some new fishing buddies. I'm a die hard fisherman that's been fishing since I could walk but my true passion has always been bass fishing. I used to be a member of a bass club in California and I just found some info on Borderline Bassin Contenders. Unfortunately we don't have a boat at this time so does anyone know if they are excepting non boaters? I've been limited to bank fishing and my float tube since we moved up here so I'm getting really anxious for that water to warm up a bit lol. Anyways thanks for any info you can give me... and once the water warms up I have a second tube so if anyone is up to go fishing I always am.

We've had a lot of people making up fake names and pics as of late. You are going to have to go through the Q and A portion of Wa fish so we can verify you are real. LOL   Just kidding, welcome aboard. I'm sure someone will be able to answer your question.

I bet you are super excited to be up here in this nice weather compared to the warn sun of Ca.

I do miss the sun a little but everything else up here out ways it. People were just really rude where I'm from and come this summer I won't be missing the 110 degree days :)

Welcome to the site Mike ,

What bait did you catch that lunker on in your pic and what body of water ?

what part of Cali are from Mike that pic looks like Barrett or maybe Upper Otay ?

Thanks guys... I caught it on a 6" Texas rigged plastic. My go to worm I like to call ol' faithful; it seems to always get em when nothing else does. I was fishing a lake called Eastman Lake just northwest of Fresno where I'm from. Unfortunatly the lake been destroyed like every other fishery in that area by over fishing and under regulating.
Welcome! I was trying to get on Borderline's website the other day, and it was down. They host an open tourney next month on lake Whatcom, so we should be hearing from one of those guys on here soon posting info about the tourney(I hope). You have some good lakes to fish up north there, you should have a blast this spring and summer.
Thanks John for the info, I here Whatcom is great for smallies. I'll have to keep an eye and ear out for that tourney (and the club). I attempted a trip to lake Terrell last week in my tube and waders. Needless to say I won't be doing that again till the water warms; even with the waders I couldn't feel my toes after an hour. I just couldn't stand to wait any longer lol.

Hi Mike,

Welcome!  I am in Borderline and running the club tournaments this year.  Our website was continuously being hacked and was abandoned last year.  We now use a facebook "group" page to communicate.  If you search "Borderline Bassin Contenders" on facebook, you will find us. We meet on the second Tuesday of every month.  PM me and I can give you all of the information regarding how to get to our meetings.  Also, if you need an app. to join the club, I can email one to you.  We have a club tournament coming up on Saturday, March 26th at Lake Terrell.  You definitely don't need a boat to join and get involved.  There are always open back seats at our club tournaments.  I would let you fish out of my boat but I am letting a friend who is just starting fishing fish out of my boat this year.  There is a good chance that he might decide to bail on the Terrell tournament as it might be kind of a tough one to catch fish.  If that happens, you would be more than welcome to fish with me.  Let me know if you have any questions that I can answer for you.

Hi John,

I will try to get the info for the Lake Whatcom Open posted before the weekend is over.  The date of it this year is Saturday, April 30th.  Sorry if it seems like I am stalling, I just was trying to avoid posting it too early.  If people prefer, I can post it ASAP.

Hi David, I found you guys on face book and sent a request to add me; I also sent a friend request on here (if i did it right) so I can get the info on the club from you. I would love to fish the Terrell tournament (with you if your buddy backs out or anyone else open to having me) so keep me posted on that.

Dana , I'll try and give you a call this weekend it's been a really busy week but I should be getting so free time this weekend. Are you in the club and fishing the tourney?

Cool! I will make some calls over the weekend and let you know what I find out before the weekend is over!
