Check out this site...  I use this for a lot of differant ideas/tricks, you'll get good honest facts.  Go to the Sonar/GPS board and someone will tell you what they know..

I have the Hummingbird 570di. about the same . I realy like it simple to use . and works very well on the trolling motor.

Collin, it is going to give you more information than almost every other 2D unit ever. But, if you can just ave a little longer and get an hds with structure scan, you will be much betterf off. I have confidence hat I can go to any lake anywhere and find fish because of the amount of info I get from my hds. It will save you so much time searching for new water that it may pay for its self at the gass pump.
