Largemouth fishing here can be like it any where else, just lighter line... Smallies are where its at though. Dropshot, carolina rigs, senkos, proactically anything
Hi Mandy, rather than try and get ya lost I would tell ya to launch at Coulon park its kinda spendy to launch there but its easy to find.. there is a great ramp at coal creek and its about half the cost but I really can't give ya directions I just know how to get there... You may be able to mapquest it... As for the Fishing In lake Washington there are both smallmouth and largemouth.. The smallmouth fishing there is simply awesome.. Just find some points with rocks and fish... You will figure them out... Football style jigs with hula grubs and dropshotting are a good start.. but jerkbaits and other reaction baits are startin to catch em as well... The fish are doin all kinds of stuff right now it is pre spawn and they are movin up and about.. Good luck and hope to see ya on the water....
Thanks guys for the input... i will definately give it a try...
The newport canals will be the hot spot to be starting in a few weeks. Ignore the signs that say " no trespassing", because they're not legit signs. This area get's tons of spawning smallmouth into June, and you will find some spawning largies in there as well. Post spawn into the fall you will still be able to catch largies as well. Light gear is the rule in the canals, because the area get's so much pressure. Not to say you still can't get a few on reaction baits, before the crowds hit. An underwater camera to help you locate beds will help your chances as well.
Last time I was there it looked like the sign in the front of Newport had been removed and the only sign left was the one at that guys dock.  Anyone know if he replaced that front one?
