Washington Fishing

The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

So if you could go bass fishing anywhere you wanted (excluding Mexico, I think it will be more interesting if we get some different answers that aren't so obvious), where would you go? For me, without hesitating, I would say Clear Lake in California. After watching the FLW Series fish there, this looks like an awesome place to throw swimbaits and jigs for numerous 5 + lb. fish and a few over 10. I don't think I have seen a place in the US where anglers can land so many 5 lb. + fish in one day.
Lake Erie (on a relatively calm day) would be a close second for me. I love fishing open water structure for boatloads of big smallies and I don't know if there is a better place than Lake Erie for this from what I have seen!

For Largemouth I would pick Falcon or Amistad. It looks like Mexico quality without having to leave the country. I agree with you David, I would love to fish a lake that has good numbers of giant fish and clear swimbait water.
For Smallmouth I agree with Erie or maybe St Claire. Erie has two fish tourneys that are won with 14lbs sometimes and I hear you can have 100 fish days. St Claire may not have as many giants but you can get on big schools of fish and use running baits all day.
Ron has fished some of these lakes, I can't wait to hear him weigh in on this.
I agree w/ Clear Lake. I have many friends who have been and can not stop raving about it! (Locally I've yet to get to lake Spanaway, but I hear god things about it too.)
In the United States, I'd really like to fish Falcon and the California Delta. I feel like both of these bodies of water would fit my prefered style of fishing nicely, and they both offer the opportunity for a teener. The best part about Falcon is there are no goofy smallmouth in there to chase around.
I would love to fish one of the great lakes for some huge smallmouth. After that I would say probably the California Delta for some great largemouth fishing.

On second thought, I think I would like to fish with Bill Dance wherever he is shooting an episode. That guy never seems to catch anything under 3 or 4 pounds. ha ha ha
Brazil.... I would love to fish there for some giant peacocks, and then I would like to get a bass boat over to Havana, Cuba, I read an article in Field and Stream about the fishing over there and how good the Largemouths are. I would like to fish these two places not just for the fish catching but for the experience as well.

Dave- Hope these weren't too obvious of answers for you!
Bay Lake outside of Orlando, FL. I have been there twice and have not even scratched the surface. Lots of big bass and miles of shoreline, canals that cut through a golf course and miles of grass!
Im with ronn on that Brazil trip for peacock bass ! something about yanking those top water stick baits across those scary looking bays and awaiting for the explosive strikes .. i gotta stop myself hear ,im in the office and im starting to get wayy to excited ..lol

I also have wanted to book a trip to florida and do some "tarpon fishing " Not with a fly rod , i wanna use bass gear for one or two of those puppies ..

Im new to the west coast so "surgeon fishing" on the columibia is also on my list .. it's the only freshwater water fish that i have yet to catch thus far !!
Lake Erie for smallies, Amistad or Okeechobee for largies....or another vote for Clear...great reputation. Where's those damn Lotto numbers?
LOL! those were definately not too "obvious" of answers Ron. Fishing for Peacocks in Brazil would be the experience of a lifetime! I was just worried when I set this up everybody would say Mexico. Maybe "obvious" wasn't the best choice of words there! LOL!

I have always wanted to take a float trip down the John Day in Oregon for smallies, it is supposed to be a great experience. For largemouth how about the small lakes around San Diego like Dixon Lake for a true trophie hunt...
bottom line Mexico is a "shit hole"as far as I"m concerned...LOL
So Brian isn't Mexican?
