Fished for 5 hours today and only had a few soft strikes, not much at all. Wondering if anyone knows much about tapps at this time of the year, i usually fish later in the season. i was throwing football heads and dropshoting and no such luck. If anyone has any tips on location or what i could use it would be well appriciated. thanks guys

that's some pretty good tecniques there. Im going tomorrow
Well I'll try to help but bass isn't my specialty, this time of year especially.
I've had some decent luck in and around bridges. One of my better luck areas is the bridge to Tapps Island
located on the eastside of the lake. Another favorite is near the North Tapps launch, swing around the point near the downed timber and slowly make your way northward. Last week we marked plenty of fish in depths 20-25ft but the fish were mainly holding around 15-18. Not sure what the best method is...I rarely use plastics and tend to toss crankbaits....maybe this would explain my lack of hookups.
Maybe Bess can jump in here,he knows the bass fishery in here pretty well.
Ya so where did you launch at? Allen York and are you talking about the land bridge with the huge triangle house? that land bridge cause i know of two of them.

Fish are already moving shallow.
The bridges are always a good bet, along with the shallow stump fields and docks, steep drops leading to a shallow flat, and points extending to shallow flats will all hold fish right now.
Jerkbaits and tubes should get you some bites.

Tyler check your pm's
I'm usually going out of North Tapps County Park but sometimes out a few of the private launches. I very rarely use Allan Yorke, they house the bollards of death. The causeway is ok,...thats the concrete A-Frame house. I've caught plenty of tigers and smallies there but the bass was more of a numbers game.
Later in the summer I take my boy up to that spot and fish for perch. The good ol worm n' bobber
does the trick.
Back to bronzies, when the water is a bit warmer,my most productive bait is a Rapala X-Rap.
I've caught many on several different colors but blue/silver seems to be the best for me.
