Washington Fishing

Oregon TBF just announced the location of the 2011 TBF NW Divisional.  It will be at Hood River April 27-29.  I've heard this is a great time for this pool and there are some pigs in that part of the river......this should be a great tournament!

Should be an exceptional tournament and a lot of fun.  Washington will have to be on their game to beat Oregon on this pool.

Good time of year for that pool.  Not that it can't blow there then, but your odds of having a fishable day that time of year are better than in the summer.  Lots of 3lb smallies there.

Hey Marc , The 2010 wa state team put the beat down on the Oregon team in MT so i dont see why it will not happen again..lol

I gotta keep it real , Ed chin is a great stick and a cool dude , but he cant do it by himself .. Go get'm Guyz !!

Dez,

I expect WA will win, because WA will field the better team.  But as I said, you will have to be on your game because local knowledge and preparation give the locals an advantage.  The Oregon team is also good, and they fish that pond a lot more than the WA guys do.

You can count on the wind to blow, so you had better learn where and how to run your boat to get to your fish; you had better have back up plans, your equipment well organized and securely fastened to your boat.  You had better have spares of everything, including complete boats.  There are also some unique ways to catch bass on that pond, so keeping an open mind in practice will also be important.

I wouldn't be surprised if a day (or two) gets cancelled.  We were fishing the BASS Divisional out of Tri Cities last year and they cancelled day 2 because of wind.  It was glass calm at Columbia Point but it was pretty nasty below the train bridge.  I guess enough guys complained about the "dangerous" conditions so the tournament director had no choice but to cancel.....it was ridiculous.  As everyone on this forum is aware, the River can get very dangerous.  Most times however, especially when launching from Columbia Point, you can stay out of the wind.  There was 20+ miles of river that was fishable that day but they still cancelled it.  This was a classic lesson in DON'T SAVE YOUR FISH FOR THE NEXT DAY!!!!

Hey Buddy,

Don't worry about the wind, just stay away from that "case of the bbq'd ribs"....

Don't forget the mustard and lots of water.

If you want someone to prefish with let me know, would love to join in.

Laters,

I don't know.  I have new "NO SHARTING" policy for my fishing partners.  I'm not sure if you can qualify!

I have been searching around on line for any current information about this tournament. I can't find anything on it other that the entry information and such. It does not even list it any place that I see on the FLW site. Does anyone know where they might have some info posted later ie. standings and such?

Mark the Tourney started today and ends on Friday. FLW should have results for day one this afternoon.
