Yet you keep posting....hmm

I get what you are saying, I think the really good anglers are more humble, and it IS about saving face if the wheels fall off come tournament time. It does happen!

1 day tournaments really aren't that great to predict, 1 lucky bite can turn a team from zero's to hero's in a second.  If you really want to see what guys are made of put them in a 3 day plus tournament, this eliminates that one lucky fish, or one good spot scenario. Also these are team tournaments, both members of the team are super important in the success of the team. To really see the skill of an individual you have to put them by themselves, with no help from another guy. Some teams mesh well together and some teams might have better anglers but they don't fish well as a team, kind of like the Miami Heat, they had all the stars but still ended up losing the Finals kind of the same thing here, individual skill only gets you so far in team format tournaments, you must have a good "team" in order to do well consistently.

Just for you T-bone I think I would kick about 99.9% of guys butts in Washington if we had 3 day tournaments in a 4 tournament season, I would also assume this be draw format tournies not team.  I left out the .1 % just in case someone gets lucky or if I have equipment failure!  I think most guys think this they just don't like to say it, it just kind of sounds bad, especially as tight knit as the group of tournament anglers are, most consider each other friends, and it would be stupid to tell your friends that you're gonna kick their butts.

I would also be willing to say that I have all the confidence in the world that I would beat you 100% of the time, I don't think this would be a problem and quite frankly too easy.

Taylor, you have completely missed my point sir. Please, step down from your horse and answer my question directly or go away. I also do not need you to edgucate me on tournament payout schedules and rules. I can read those first hand if I cared. From your results I am sure you are familiar with how your money is dispersed evenly.

My question was how come more tournamtent anglers don't come out and pubically predict themselves as winners of these tournaments?

To clarify, it started becuase I observed some people like to predict who is going to win and some 'knew' others were going to win. I question the value in stating you 'knew' someone was going to win after they had already won. You never hear guys predict the outcome if they are actually in the tournament. You just hear how they should have won, but didn't.

Chad, please, pull out one of your good one liners like calling me a douche or something. Please.

Finally, someone with a set. See folks, it's not that hard to have confidence. Thank you Ron. You made my day in so many ways.

Now, for the younger anglers, could you let us know when you adopted this 99.9% theory? I assume it was before you started doing well in tournaments. I would bet it came from a different competative sport you were likely sucessful in as well.
One last thing...

I like my odds against you Ron. I have all the confidence in the world I will beat you as well. If not, it would be fun trying and no, I would not be embarassed if I lost.

Taylor, I like the fact you admitted you shouldn't give me the satisfaction of replying, yet continued to do so. Only to call me ignorant in the end. That is priceless.
The only way you can be disliked as much as you are on this website is to be ignorant. Move back where you came from please...  :-)

Maybe we can look at this as somewhat of a case study.

Taylor- Being that you are not a trash talker have you had any recent successes as a tournament angler? Any angler of the years, wins at higher levels?

T-Bone- Being that you are a trash talker have you had any recent sucesses as a tournament angler? Any angler of years or wins at higher levels.

I will consider the data gathered as scientific, and we can say that person with the most sucess is the winner, and the person with the least sucess CAN SHUT THE HECK UP :)

I know Taylor as all good anglers, has high self confidence, and even though he might not say it does know that he is gonna kick some butt when he gets on the water, he expects to do well everytime, if he didn't he wouldnt be shelling out all the coin, or should I say recollecting it.

Taylor, I thought you were done with me? I should have posted a prediction I 'knew' you would be back... You also have played out the word "ignorant'. I think it has been in every post so far. Time to find a new word so we can keep this fresh. I took the liberty to give yo a few ideas. Feel free to use as many as you would like -

Apprenticed, benighted, birdbrained, blind to, cretinous, dense, green*, illiterate, imbecilic, in the dark, inexperienced, innocent, insensible, mindless, misinformed, moronic, naive, nescient, oblivious, obtuse, shallow, thick, unconscious, unconversant, uncultivated, uncultured, uneducated, unenlightened, uninformed, uninitiated, unintellectual, unknowledgeable, unlearned, unlettered, unmindful, unread, unschooled, unsuspecting, untaught, untrained, unwitting, witless

Damn, who got out the thesarus?

Thesarus' aren't very impressive.   NW BASS team of the year Taylor Smith/Dan Jenson.....very impressive.

I wasn' try to impress, just pointing out he played the word out. It's time to change it up a little. IMO, it makes for better reading if you don't repeat the same material. Just a suggestion.
Because they have class!
