Washington Fishing

The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

Had the pleasure of fishing the Pend Oreille river with my buddy Mark again.

River looks a little better than my previous trip a month and a half ago but still pretty high water and murky in most areas. The no wake was lifted last week. Launched out of Cusick and fished a slough, just minutes in and I hooked up with a mid 20's northern on a super shad rap but she spit the hooks at the boat. Had a few other hits and then it got real quiet. We motored around for a bit with no signs of life,Mark got a follow but the pike seemed more curious and less hungry but at least we knew that they were still present.About an hour later the pike decided to get hungry and aggressive. Spoons were the ticket but the bite was red hot but only lasted for about 20 minutes and then shut down. We boated 9 in that short window. Water temps ranged from 62-72.

Nice fish K.B. !
Thanks fellas, certainly fun to catch these guys. I'm looking forward to the upcoming northern pike tourney out here on Labor Day weekend.

Hit the POR again this past weekend with Mark K. Pretty damn cold up there, even some fresh snow in the foothills. Mark put on a pike clinic. Fish are pretty active in and near weedbeds. A few bigger one's rolled by and many missed hookups but several were caught. We had the entire river to ourselves. Spoons worked the best. Probably my last trip for the year, spring can't come soon enough.

Heres a couple pics, nothing award winning

Looks like a ton of fun Kevin. Thanks for the report

I haven't caught a northern pike sence I was stationed in Colorado, grew up catching them in North Dakota. Lots of fun they are. Good eating too! What is available for camp grounds in the are you fished? Looking to find a campground with full hookups for the camper.

Hey Rodney,I'm headed out the door but will get back to you ASAP. I know of a few, just letting you know I didn't forget about ya'. Be back shortly
