CHASE HEATON IS THAT GUY WE NEED TO THINK ABOUT WHEN WE CRY ABOUT OUR GELL COAT. HE IS THAT GUY WE NEED TO THINK ABOUT WHEN WE CRY ABOUT A BAIT ONLY BEING GOOD FOR 1 FISH. HE IS THAT GUY WE SHOULD ALWAYS THINK ABOUT WHEN WE COMPLAIN ABOUT OUR BACK SEATER NOT CONTRIBUTING ENOUGH FOR GAS. HE IS THAT GUY THAT SHOULD BE THOUGHT OF WHEN WE LOSE A ROD OR BREAK A TIP. WHEN YOU  WHINE ABOUT YOUR TEAM PARTNER NOT CATCHING A FISH, THINK OF CHASE. WHEN YOU CRY ABOUT YOUR DRAW NUMBER REMEMBER WHAT CHASE HEATON IS EXPERIENCING. WHEN YOUR PERSONALITY IS DIFFERENT AFTER YOU GET OFF THE WATER THAN BEFORE YOU GOT ON BECAUSE YOU HAD A BAD DAY, THINK ABOUT THE HEATON FAMILY.

FOR YOU ANGLERS THAT DON’T KNOW WHO CHASE IS. CHASE IS THAT GUY THAT IS OUT THERE CHECKING THE BOATS BEFORE A NW BASS TOURNAMENT. AND CHECKING THE BOAT NUMBERS AS THEY COME OFF THE WATER. HE IS AN 18 YEAR OLD KID, OR SHOULD I SAY MAN, THAT NEVER HAS A BAD WORD TO SAY ABOUT ANYTHING OR ANYBODY. CHASE IS SOMEBODY I AND PROBABLY MOST OF US LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING AT A NW BASS TOURNAMENT. CHASE IS THE MOST SELFLESS PERSON I HAVE EVER KNOWN. HIS PERSONA AT THIS JUNCTURE IN HIS LIFE COULD BE REALLY DEPRESSING BUT ISN’T. HE IS THE MOST UPBEAT HUMAN I KNOW AND I AM VERY GLAD AND FORTUNATE TO BE HIS FRIEND. CHASE HEATON HAS QUITE THE BATTLE TO FIGHT. I WILL BATTLE WITH HIM.

CHASE HEATON IS A FIGHTER. CHASE HEATON IS A TRUE ROLE MODEL AND I AM EXTREMELY BLESSED TO BE ABLE TO SAY, I LOVE CHASE HEATON.

Dan, that is the best thing I have ever read!  Nice work and I couldn't agree more with you.

Good post, Dan.  Chase is exactly what we need more of in this world.  As a cancer survivor myself I know how shaken he must be, and he needs our support so he can and will get through this.

Be watching for a special fund raising event that Chris Lambert is organizing with the help of many manufacturers (including WaveAWay, QuickDrops, Sniper Lures, Lucky Craft, Top Shelf, Yamamoto, Lamiglas, etc.).  Prize packages are being formed and will be raffled off via ticket sales; the proceeds will be going to send Chase and his Dad to the BASSMASTERs Classic where he will receive VIP treatment!

Hopefully Chris will elaborate on this effort shortly!

ciao,
Marc Marcantonio

The WAFISH community has been very generous so far from my Blog Post as well. Thank you everyone for the help!

Marc, I look forward to the fundraiser - Let me know if there's anything WAFISH/I can help with!

Nicely put D.J!

Hey guys.  Sorry I haven't responded sooner but I've had a lot on my plate lately.  The fundraiser is coming along and will run February 1-15.  We will have (10) prize packs that will be raffled off as well as bonus prizes that will be added to the prize packs.  Marc mentioned most of the manufacturers but we recently added Haggs Tornado Baits and Bass Kickin Baits that will also be included within the prize packs.  I have (2) bonus prizes so far.  One is an autographed Brent Ehrler jersey and the other is a Lamiglas cranking rod.  I talked with Brandon Palaniuk earlier and he is working on getting some cool things donated as well.

We will be selling tickets for $5 each at www.waveaway.com.  Any Wave Away retail purchase made on my site during that time will also count for one ticket and Wave Away will donate $5 to the fundraiser per kit that's sold.

The folks at Wired2Fish.com will be promoting the fundraiser so it will receive national exposure.  Once I have the press release ready, and we're closer to the start date, I will add it to WAFISH so we can all help to get the word out.

There's still time so if anybody out there wants to donate product or a bonus prize that would be great.  Quantities of 10 would be appreciated so that we can have some within each prize pack.  Please send me an email at chrisfishes@earthlink.net and we will get it all figured out.

Thanks...Chris Lambert

Bump... here's the original Blog post. Let's see what we can get this up to for Chase http://www.wafish.com/profiles/blogs/a-special-request-for-chase-he...

I had the pleasure of spending part of the day today with Chase at the Spokane Boat Show.... What a remarkable young man with great spirit for life and bass fishing!!!!! If you didn't know what he's battling thru you wouldn't think anything out of the norm!!!! It was an honor to get to know him!!!!

Hi Everyone,

I wrote a check and gave it to Gary Stiles on Friday for $500 from the Wafish donations. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the cause, a couple more have trickled in the last few days and I'll make sure these get passed along as well. Thank you all again.

I don't know this young man but had to make a donation after hearing so much about him. All of you posting and donating are truly great people. Noted!

I sent something to Gary Stiles too, did not hear if he got it yet, I hope so. Chase we are all pulling for you! When you go to the classic, please take lots of pictures.

Hey guys and gals, the fundraiser for Chase Heaton continues.  Please go to www.waveaway.com for all the details and how you can buy a raffle ticket(s) prior to the deadline of the end of February.  Lots of great prizes will be raffled away, and your ticket price will go to a great cause.

Thank you to all who have already donated money and bought raffle tickets!  Here is the latest letter I received from the raffle organizer, Chris Lambert:

Hello,

We're at the mid-way mark for the Chase Heaton Fundraiser.  It started out really strong the first two days then it slowed down considerably.  So far we have raised $494.94.  I will be sending Chase a check for $500 tomorrow so he will have it in time for next weeks Bassmaster Classic.  We have two weeks to go and it would be great if we could atleast raise $1000 total.

Each prize pack will have well over $300 worth of product in it so whoever wins one will really get a great prize.  If you all wouldn't mind spreading the word about the fundraiser on more time between now and the end of the month it would really be appreciated.

Thanks again for all of the help.
