Washington Fishing

The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

Got my insurance renewal notice in the mail and saw my rates went from $550/year to $1099! Anybody have something like this happen? Got in contact with my agent and he said they are now doing "some policy changes that affect rates".

Who do you guys use for insurance on your bass boats? I have a 2008 Triton 20hp w/250 Pro Xs and am curious what others are paying.

I use "Boat Insurance Agency" out of Seattle. They've been great to work with http://www.boatinsurance.net/

I use USAA who in turn send you to Progressive, because they don't do boats. But mine was $245 for 1 year.  Which I couldn't believe.  That was with the required amounts to fish tournaments, which are higher than needed for normal use and with higher amounts for fishing gear, etc.  I have USAA for all of my auto's, house, etc. which is why I might have gotten a lower rate.  I have an 05 Ranger 175vs w/Optimax 115.  I think USAA is one of the best insurance companies out there.  Very reasonable for all items and they give a yearly dividend.  Not much but every bit helps!  Your boat is much newer and with a larger engine which is why you'll pay a little more but $1099 seems like a lot.

Looks like they got you for the most hence the name of the company.  You need to drop them like a rock and go somewhere else.

I hope every one knows that you need to cary at least $300,000 of accidental. For most of the turnements now.

Safeco $438.00 year  for two boats.  03 Basscat Cougar, and 89 Tracker.  Very rapid claims response when I tore up a lower unit last year.

Thanks guys, appreciate all the info!

Thanks for the heads up. I checked with Russ, and we do need $300,000 to fish the qualifiers.
