Ryan Gates is leader for Washington

I heard through the grapevine that Shawn McDaniels was the highest finisher from Washington, followed by Tony LoFranco who made a huge comeback after struggling on day 2. Nice work guys, let's hear the report when you get back in town!

Washington state team update:

1st Shawn Mcdaniels (Hawghunter) & 2nd Tony Lofranco (W.B.A)  made the National team for the northwest region as of today  , Nice work guys !!

since 2010 The Puyallup Hawghunter Club have had 3 club members qualify too compete in the TBF/FLW nationals :)

Congrats guys...good work!
wow what an experience. on day one I drew leon stiffarm of montana. we blasted off and went into the bruno arm on cj strike. he was throwing a huddleston swimbait and was getting hit like crazy. I was throwing a kgm tw swimmer in a koakanie color and getting throttled also so I switched to a luckycraft pointer 78 in a aurora gold color jerkbait but no takers so i went back to a swimbait and kept getting slapped by the smallies. iIthen would throw a sniper snub in the diamond chunk color as a follow up bait and that is what they would eat. so i used the swimbait as a locator in the merky water and when i located the fish followed it with a drop shot or a split shot sniper j fac craw. at weigh in i weighed 11.13.
day2 I drew david helestab of oregon. we went to the mid river of the snake river where in prefishing tom melowitz and my self found fish just moving in to spawn the water temp was 3° cooler than the bruno arm but the winds of a variable 20 - 30 mph with gusts 50 - 60 made the decision easy for us so we went to my stuff in the snake. the baits we used were senkos in several colors . we also used reaction innovations smallie beaver in a penetration or a hemotoma color texas rigged and a black bead with a 1/4 oz bullet weight. but the best bait of day 2 was the sniper j fac craw splitshot combo. day 2 weight was 6lbs 8oz I kept my lead for washington by 2lbs 8oz. day 3 i drew chad kaiser of idaho. we went to the bruno arm unable to get on any of prime areas so we paniced and scraped together a limit of fish and weighed In a limit of 6 lbs 1 oz and got knocked out of first to 3rd by an amazing come back by shawn mcdaniels and tony lafranco. I hope I qualify for divisionals again. I had a blast with the guys in idaho but this year it is going to be hosted by washington at pot holes . lets sweep this one fellas.
