Washington Fishing

The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

Goodmorning all,

I was wondering if anyone can make a reccomedation for a few lakes to hit in the Covington area for a little bass fishing. We have just recently started to try and target bass and lake washington is a long drive for a skunkin. Thanks.

Lake Sawyer is where I used to fish all the time when I lived in Covington. I used to catch numerous bass fishing off the shore near the boat launch this time of year! There is both smallmouth and largemouth. If you have a boat, work the docks to the left of the launch.

Lake 12 in Black Diamond. Lake Meridian and Morton both on the edge of Kent/Covington. All have great bass populations. Actually kind of depends on what you are fishing out of. Some lakes have restrictions on motors. There are a ton of small lakes all throughout Kent/Maple Valley/Enumclaw which you can't have a gas engine on, but are good fishing lakes. Just check all your regs.

Thank you guys, I will be giving both a shot soon.  The fish at washington were coming out of the water like crazy but damned if I could get them to bite.

here is a little list ive thought up

jut google maps for the location

lake holm(black diamond)- dark stained water, small lake  can produce some big largies, if u can get them to bite

lake sawyer(black diamond)- stained water, also holds some huge largemouth, pretty good fishing, can be tough at times, throw a perch color crank for best luck

shadow lake(maple valley)- small, electric only motors, stained water, only fished it once, so no tips

lake meridian(covington)- lightly stained, throw plastics and jigs ad docks for  smalies and largies

good luck!

Thanks again everyone for the pointers. Was going to go out this weekend but ended up having to work.  Ill post a report as soon as we  get back. Tight lines.
