It shall be known that Mike Bess fished this tournament solo, regardless of what the results show.

Indeed I did.  Thanks for showing up...

Dang...any thoughts on why the weights are so low?

Back end of crazy weather for a couple of weeks...  And I stink on Potholes..

Good questions Joel,

The reason I was interested was that almost every tournament this year has had 1 or two teams putting 5 good bites together, and the rest coming up light.  Potholes open in april, NW bass, ABA, Anglers choice, Your club tourney last weekend....same story.

I'm left wondering if Potholes has run its course, and everyone and their mother should be fishing Sammamish or whitman to get the big bites leaving Potholes for the pathetic eastsiders to sulk on.

I have some friends (yes Jon, I do have a couple) in Moses.  In 15 years they have never seen the weather pattern they've had for the last 4 months.  For example last Friday, Moses/Othello had a massive hail storm. I think this has a lot to do with it.

Potholes has been down all year. I don't think weather is the reason. Weather may effect 1 day, but not all year. Like Jake was saying every tourney I can think of was down in weights. The other thing is there are a lot of 2 and 3 fish days.

You could see it coming, and same thing with Moses. Potholes over the last 7 years had one age class of fish that did very well. 4 years ago you could catch 20-30 fish but there were 1-2 pounds. The next year it was 20-25 fish that were 2.5 pounds etc. Last year I think it peaked out with that weight class, where you could still go out and catch 7 or 8 that were 4-6 pounds. Now you are catchint 2-3 that are 4-6 pounds. I just think it is a cycle. In two years you will probably be able to catch 50 one pound fish out there and 1 five pounder.

Thank you "Steve Toole"......

I has been saying the same thing all year with most of the lakes that i have fished .

Its started in april on whatcom , then banks , chelan , washington , potholes , etc

All of these lake have not been turning out good bags like they have in years past . My club just fished riffe this past wkend and same thing , one good bad then the rest are all dinks .I really dont know WTF is going on right now , but im just keep casting untill im the one angler with a good bag at some point ..lol

Its not personal ,its just fishing has been the motto :)

I would agree..

The LM fishing on Moses tanked this year. The smallmouth was ok. SM and LM on Potholes hasn't been good. The bags on Banks have been good, but it seems to be fishing a little different this year, and I haven't done as good as normal. To have Potholes and Moses go from hero to zero in a year really has made fishing a lot less interesting.

Maybe everyone should quit fishing these lakes because they suck now.
