Washington Fishing

The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

Nick Barr and Jesse Squires are sitting in 10th after day 1. Looks like the fishing is brutally tough, but that means their only a bit or two away from being in contention.

We have two teams representing EWU. Nick and Jesse, and also Robert and Jarred. Both teams are relying on a couple days of prefishing, and from talking with Robert, they have found big fish but they aren't taking the bait.

Utah Lake is 96,000 acres and the deepest point is around 8 feet, and no, that's not a typo. Supposedly, the lake lacks oxygen and the majority of fish look unhealthy compared to our local lakes. While flippin' and pitchin' is the most successful technique, many of the boats can't even approach the bank to target cover because it's too shallow.

It's certainly tough but it's great to see our local anglers in the Regional Championship. The Top-5 go on to fish the final day tomorrow. Go get 'em Eagles!
