Here's an eastside entry, not much to brag about, but I am on the board for 2013:)   A Potholes fish caught around 25 feet deep in 37 degree water.  The walleye weren't cooperating, so I figured I would try for a bass.

Here is my first largemouth for the year (caught today); one of a 5 largemouth limit all caught on swimbaits.

The morning started off at 38 degrees, with scattered snow on the ground.  I didn't think about it after the first hour...

ciao,

Marc Marcantonio

Nice fish Marc!

Nice Marc! Thats not a washington lake is it?

I drove 2500 miles round trip to fish Vail Lake in Temecula, California.   Largemouth bass are worth it.  Even though the conditions were tough and the bite was off, I still managed 6 nice largemouths all on the swimbaits.

Also got to really test out my new Lamiglas Infinity rods, and confirmed these are a winner.  The swimbaits were Optimum Double Diamonds fished on a BladeRunner Spintrix (underspin).  The 4 power Infinity rod was perfect, and it took a very slow retrieve and a sensitive tip to feel the bites.

Right on!

Way to get on the board, Marc!  Glad you got to fall in love with the Infinity.  Only takes a couple bites, capisce?

I usually catch my first largemouth around February 38th.

A few days too late...but it's something! Caught on a 3:16 Lure Company Rising Son in Bluegill pattern
