Alright, So This elite 7hdi thing blew me and my dad out of the water. I know its not an HDS10 or anything but dang dude! awesome. except after 10 to 15 minutes of messing around with it, the gps still had not locked on to my location??? is there a trick to it? or am I just being dumb and need to pull the boat out of the shop so it gets a better signal? Ive never owned a gps thingy before, so that is new to me also lol  like i said, just a question. is it dumb or dumber???  :D

You will do better out of a garage with a clear view of the sky.

huh, makes sense....... lOl.    now just one more week to put it to test on lawrence lake!

Yes, you need to pull out of the garage.  Until you have locked in on the satellites, the first time can take 10 or more minutes.  The unit was tested in Tulsa, OK so it thinks it is still there when you turn it on, and looks for all the same satellites it saw when it was tested.  After it realizes it is no longer in Tulsa it will find the satellites available in our area, and will lock on fine.  Then it will be almost instantaneous in the future.

Once it is locked on in our area, with some luck you will even possibly get a signal in your garage, but don't count on it.

The Elite HDI's are great units, and priced right!  If you don't need networking or sidescan, these are the way to go.

Ok cool! But nope, side scan will come later when a newer boat is upgrade in the garage lol
