I am in the market for a frog rod. What are some things you all look for in a good frog rod? Any favorite models in particular?

Cheers,

Good Frog rods arent easy to find...I've tried the Diawa Light & Tough and the Powell frog rod...both are good but they just didnt feel right...the rod I use know has the perfect tip and the right amount of backbone in my opinion. I've been using the Dobyns Extreme Cast Rod 7'4" Mag Hvy 745

Something different...... I throw a 7'2" R&R Rods (Randy Thompson Longview Wa) custom rod,( Lamiglas blank)  with a Diawa Megaforce reel & 65lb power pro. Here's whats different that I stumbled onto. The Megaforce has a twitch'n bar. I love this feature, because as those who know, if you throw a frog for several hours you will get tired of twitching that rod, regardless of the rod or how strap'n you think you are.

So you can alternate back and forth between using the twitch'n bar and twitching the rod. I have had some of my best success, with long casts, bring up the slack and just feather the twitch'n bar enough to get the frog just to turn a little and woosh! For anyone that has had carpal tunnel issues or joint pain, take a look at the twitch'n bar. Just having a break from the repetition of the same motion for hours is really a nice feature.   My understanding is this twitch'n bar was marketed for flip'n but I can't see using it that way, but really sold on it for frogs/topwater.
