Where abouts on Banks Lake is this located and do you have to belong to a club or organization to go, and exactly what is it, a tournament, festival like ?, celebration, ? etc.

The Jamboree is a club vs club event hosted by the Washington State Bass Federation that is more of a festival atmosphere than a tournament.  It is an event where all the bass clubs in the state get together at Coulee Playland and compete for both club and individual trophies and bragging rights.  It has been going on for 40 some years and is a great event with lots of things to do.  It is also just a good time to get together with people.

My family and I are going. This will be our first time at this event and we are looking forward to it.

Gary, Thank you for the answer, I will try to make it and maybe an old bank fisher can learn some new tricks. (I've never used a plastic, for example, I am so dumb I don't even know how to rig one.  LOL.  I also have a question for anyone about crawdads on Banks, several of the small ones I catch off thee bank are full of 'dads, if I trap live ones at banks, can I use them for bait then, legally?  The way I read the regs I can (if legal size 'dads) but was wondering what the experienced fisher thought.

The tournament regs will state  -  No live bait of any kind.  So no trapping craws or anything else to use for bait.

Gary, that wasn't exactly what I meant but DID answer why when I see tournament anglers the never use live nightcrawlers, always wondered why.  I was asking about someone (me) just sittin' on the bank fishing for my dinner.  I should have been more clear, I'm sorry.  (boy would I love to fish from a boat on Banks or Potholes but Soc. Sec. barely pays for the license and the *&^% discover pass and gas these days. LOL  Also curious what other fishers feel about the extra fees, (Discover pass, State parks Launch fee, the xtra fee on the car tabs some cities have, etc.)  I've been fishing in WA. for over 60 years and I'm afraid its going to come to an end for guys like me real soon.  Again sorry for not being clearer.

Personally, I think the discover pass is a bunch of crap built to take more of our money.  I don't have a problem with launch fees if they keep the ramp in good condition and monitor the parking area so that the idiots that park in trailer parking spaces with cars and trucks stay out so that there is parking space for those of us with trailers to park.

It would be nice to see some more info put on the Federation website about the tournament other than the dates.

I agree.

Registration Friday 6-8pm and Saturday 7-9 am
Opening Ceremony is 9 Saturday.

I will be there. One of my favorite events. Its so much more than just the fishing.

Looking forward to a fun times spent with a great group on memorial day :)
