The title came back home to the west side where it belongs..
Amen to that Mike, WESTSIIIIDE !! Congrats to both Gentleman on the win
For cryin' out loud Bess, really...
Jason and I had fished for over an hour before you launched your boat on Sunday, and you're making geography claims on the Championship Title. Let me guess, after your "Richard Sherman" pregame rally speech with the west-siders, you needed an hour to unwind... drink some water from yelling... "WHO'S HOUSE!!!!!! OUR HOUSE!!!!!!!"
I will admit, your speech about walleye being in your bass spot was the highlight of our morning. Freaking Hilarious.
All joking aside, nice work from Ron and Mike. Day 2 was the definition of the word "grind." For all those who got beat by Ron and Mike (myself included,) I have to apologize... it was my fault. Let me explain... After weigh-in on day one, we were all standing around the campsite making predictions on who was going to win. Like an idiot, I picked a different team than Hobbs and Wolsky, while Mike was standing right next to me. Right after the words came out of my mouth, I saw Mike's eyes roll back in his head and the rest is history. I even got an email this morning where Mike said he won it, cause I bet against him. Dumb.
Bess and Dez, pick your 5 best teams, and our I'll grab our best five for a showdown wherever you want!!! (would actually be fun.)

Yes, really Jake... I will make claims on a title in any way I can- Sessler taught me that! When you are sitting on 8.77lbs after day 1, your sense of urgency is limited. It was only after hearing everyone blast off that I decided to fish. It was nice to sleep in and have VIP launching/trailer parking provided by Jeff and Gary!
With winter fast approaching, let's have a "Duck Off". I'll take Mike against any 5 teams you want to put together.. Quickest 2 man limit wins.
Typical trash talker, Ol' Bess.... You get called to the mat, and you deflect with a "Duck Off."
Being extremely competitive, which I'm sure drives my wife crazy, I'll take your "Duck Off" Challenge. Being that Eckternkamp is closer to the eastside, we get him. To make this a real challenge, each team has to take two hunters, selected by the opposing team. First team to shoot 4 limits wins. For you and Mike, you have to take Gary Stiles and Dan Johnson.
We win.....

If you guys are talking about having a Duck Hunting Tourney I may have to dust off the Ol Benelli and come out of Duck Hunting Retirement for this one! Or I can just be the sidekick who just calls the ducks, either way. I'll call em, you shoot em!
Let the game begin.
Wait a darn minute. Both Aaron and Gemmill have hunted with me for years. Will the teaming change if the surgeon clears me to shoot a 20 gauge by mid-January?
Mike Bess is out of the office. If you are inquiring about the 2014 Duck Off Challenge, please contact Ron Hobbs- Program Director and Public Relations Manager of Awesomeness.

Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah....burp..... blah blah blah blah...
Pick your best five and we'll pick ours.
You can't win a friendly competition in a forum. All the creative lecturing from your elected wordsmith is indicative of the strong Democratic base you have on that side of the state. But this isn't a "debate team" challenge, it's a fishing challenge (that Bess wants to make into a Duck Hunting one.)
Ben Schilling's crazy Idaho crowd has an event every year called "Ducks, Bucks and Bass." Two day open team event, which is pretty hilarious. They take it serious, but when it's all-over they break bread and talk about the antics necessary to shoot 28 mallards, two deer and catch the biggest limit of bass.

P.S. Ron, I drive a desk, in which the signature is a habit formed by profession.
P.S.S. Any readers that take offense to this post, please note that I am just kidding (except for the challenge.)
I don't want to poop in anyone's oatmeal, but you take a westsider and put him on call shy birds, and introduce a 1 box limit, and what do they do.... they head to potholes and the Columbia River to hunt. When the easide birds get call shy, they hunt "the salt" for the really smart birds.
Don't even get me started on the birkenstocks they slide into after they get out of their caddis breathables.
You can trailer your sled over the pass, but you just can't rank the professionals with the amateurs.
And when did a boat cert supercede AOY as "the title". I think you guys are are using the term "title" too literally. The real one is sitting on Jeff McBrooms mantle. Frankly, Ron Mace probably woulda won the boat at Banks if he had the driveway space.
"Your best five vs our best five"? Does the westside not have 6 good teams?
