So, has anyone ever had a fiberglass replica of a smallmouth bass done? And, if so, could I get a name? Were/are you happy with it?
I understand that some replicas are a basic form, in 1 pound units like 5#, 6# or whatever, and the taxidermist will paint it up and do whatever you want with the background.
Then, I guess, some will, for more money, actually make or alter the thing to the shape of actual fish that you have, like if it has a super large belly.
Not sure if this stuff is true and I will investigate but the best way to get what you want and to be happy is customer referrals.
Appreciate any feedback! Thanks!

Right on! Thanks so much for doing my homework:)
I have a replica of what was a 6lb 13 oz smallmouth.....I had Wildlife Creations do it . They were through Bass Pro. I think they still advertise in the catalog, or you might go in and ask em if you live near the one in Seattle area. I was very happy with the paint job.....and I can honestly say it is the best Smallmouth replica I have ever seen in person.
I don't recall the price, but it was considerably cheaper than any local places . All they need is measurements and a picture to go by for the paint.
Thanks for all the info! I will, certainly, check into these leads.
I would recommend you speak with the owners of Profish taxidermy. I can't recall their names, but they are very good at what they do, very nice, and somewhat "local." They have a nice website.
Thanks! I am liking the http://profishart.com/
Well, Pro Fish guy says he cannot find a form to get close to my fish. He has done one with the girth of mine but 4 inches longer and two pounds heavier and he has done two with an inch larger girth but both those fish weighed over 9 pounds. Mine is not close to that :( bummer
Yeah, will look into him a little more. Thanks!
