Washington Fishing

The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

hey fellas, so I live up by lake tapps and sometimes i just dont feel like dealing with the retards out there when its nice, but seems like alot of the lakes around my area an outboard prohibited. i know there are alot of good lakes out in the graham area but i grew up fishing those and a change of scenery would be nice. anyway does anyone have any good suggestions on small lakes around auburn, covington, enumclaw area that allow a bassboat on them but arent overrun by fools when its nice out? thanks!

I love lakes that are overrun with water skiers because that equates to being able to see a few girls in bikinis going by. :)
You should have been at Moses this weekend then. Lots of um...

Easy answer Troy-

Sawyer
Morton
Meridian

Sawyer has weird times of the day when you can go fast, and costs $5 or $7 dollars to park. Boat rules are interesting. Vessels may exceed the posted speed limit of 5 miles per hour between the hours of two (2) p.m. and seven (7) p.m. on Monday through Fridays and from eleven (11) a.m. to three (3) p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. Max speed of 36MPH. Both largemouth and smallmouth.

Morton is an 8MPH lake, but your bow mount will be just fine for covering the water. The only problem I have there is launching when all of the trout guys are drunk and listening to Metallica. They fish from their front seats while blocking the 60' wide boat launch. Feels good when they have to move to let you launch though. Never had an attitude problem with anyone there either. Largemouth only.

Meridian just has just started charging $5 to launch at their new launch. Plenty of docks, reeds, pads, and underwater structure. Both Largemouth and Smallmouth. Police boat docked on the lake and will happily ticket you for speeding. Weird boat rules:
From the City Of Kent's website
• All Other Vessels (except Personal Watercraft): May access the lake daily. May operate 8-35 MPH between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. May not exceed posted speed limit of 0-8 MPH between 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 a.m. When exceeding 8 MPH, must be 200 feet from shore and 100 feet from other vessels and swimmers. When exceeding 8 MPH, must travel in counterclockwise direction only. Jetski's may operate 8-35 MPH ONLY between the hours of 12:00 noon and 6:00 p.m. on EVEN numbered days of the calendar from May 16th through September 15th.
ask DanielT about a place. And I second what Ben said. I love to fish Chelan in the summertime. Plenty of scenery and occasionally a fish.
that place is pretty deep from the valley area.

In fact that whole auburn/kent area isnt that great since most of those lakes (like the military rd ones) are gas motor restricted.

If you wanna go for a little drive tho let me know!
