Washington Fishing

The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

I have been thinking about this little "match" that Bess has challenged me to and thought about what Ron Hobbs jr said about the UMF format. That would be a fun tournament to have with a select number of guys from this forum. I believe that it would have to be on consecutive days ( during the week) in order for it to work, but it would be a great advertisement for this site as well.
What do you think?

Early Spring would be best....before the tournament trails start

Hey Bess.......you better think about what you want to put up for a wager.....because no matter what.......I am gonna embarrass you on your home water....

I like this idea Ron.

Grimes, it could be like league play and last all season a couple boutes each weekend and then the championship later in the year. I think it would be a blast
What is a "boutes"?

Been trying to get my club to do this, some of the formats we have talked about because everyone is worried about the multiple day thing, is more of a "Last Man Standing" format, where you group anglers in groups of 4, 5, 6 as necessary and even a draw format for partner pairings, ....weigh in every 3 hours top angler and/or coangler from each group stays in the winners bracket and everyone else is in the losers bracket, then bring the "Top Loser" ( I just sets em up...) back into the winners bracket in the last round. Lets everyone fish all but the last round, and hey I could set around for 3 hours and have a beverage or two if I didn't make it. For that matter the last round could be 1 hour. The whole concept is a fun idea (bracketed tourney) , regardless of the format. It is fun to go directly up against another guy during a specific time period... like that in there too.

So if this is like ultimate match fishing, who would be officiating? Personally I would love to smack the law down on you guys. Carrying a whistle feels so powerful!
Only if you wear some kind of referee outfit. My choice for a ref would be the hooters girls from south lake union.

Jon, I absolutely second this motion.
Maybe you want to look at the NW Bass results for Tri-Cities first.
Plus we followed Hobbs and Mace around in the FLW event so we have some AWESOME spots now.
