Washington Fishing

The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

Good article about the FLW tourney on the Delta. WaFish's own Ron Hobbs is even mentioned in the atricle. Hobbs would you mind break down the tourney from your perspective for us?

Enjoy

No problem Aaron. I am going to take a look at it as well. Though I am still early in my bass fishing adventure I think keeping track of things I do whether they work or dont will be a good habit to get into.
The future boat post. But it doesn't matter. This site would be kind of booring without a few hooligans running a muck.

You know whats funny? I didn't know how to spell it, so I googled it as "altiemers" and a bunch of articles came up. I assumed that was right. hahaha

You'll have to refresh my memory, I remember the picture, but I don't remember the content of the post.
I am a "altiemers suffering goof", or it could be Alzheimers......I can't remember.
Yes, the log I use is the Taysys FishNLog Professional Suite. The creator, Bob Taylor, is a former team tournament partner when we both lived in So. CA in the early 1980's. Bob is a computer programmer by trade, and an awesome angler who is very competitive and understands details.

The best thing that makes his software better than others I have seen is that it is a database so you can organize your data and create reports, but it also has a huge text field for notes. Most don't allow you to post notes in the volume you need in order to capture all of your post-fishing thoughts. I can type pages of notes if I want. You can also cut and paste news articles about tournaments or fishing reports, and paste the entire article in the notes section. I do this each year to pinpoint the timing of salmon and steelhead runs on different rivers.

I have kept a record of 99.9% of every fishing trip I have made since 1983. Prior to that I hand wrote my logs and they fill several notebooks. These make interesting reading, but are useless for quickly finding data about any certain lake or river. If I want with the Taysys FishNLog, I can sort out every trip at Tricities, and can further sort by season, or by specific dates.

BTW, this software does a whole lot more, also, like keep records for tax purposes of your trips and expenses, you can inventory all your equipment (great for insurance purposes), create maintenance records, travel information, and much more.
