Washington Fishing

The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

I think it would be interesting to hear peoples goals for the year 2010. Also, we could look back at this thread near the end of the year and see what was accomplished and what people gave up on. For me, it's;

1. Win something: a club tourny, an open, or even big fish of a tourny.
2. Replace all the carpet and seats in my boat.
3. Learn a few new lakes
4. Catch a 6lb LM and a 5lb SM.
5. 75 days on the water.

I find that writing down goals and discussing them helps motivate me to achieve them. What are you guys shooting for this year?

1) Leave the poles at home and spend some time on the water learning to better use my electronics.
2) Include my 6yr old in more of my fishing outings
3) Regularly maintain a fishing log.
4) Join a Bass Club - become more interactive with other anglers.
5) Work on the following techniques...
a) Drop Shot
b) Crankbaits / Jerkbaits
c) Jigs
6) Pay off the car so I can start working on getting a better boat.
7) Spend more time fishing Whatcom County lakes.
Now there is a good answer! It is hard to have the patience to spend enough
time to really learn a lake well with rods in the boat to distract you!

Potter only likes tubes if they are made out of meat.

Don't bother putting the tubes back in the boat. They suck!

Ya im going to put them back into my aresnal of baits this year, they seem to always produce fish, and quality ones as well.

Same thing happened to me. I used to fish with tubes all the time and do real well on them. Then for some reason I just stopped using them as much over the last couple of years. A couple people that were fishing with me in my boat though whooped up on me pretty bad last year using tubes.

I agree with fishing tubes more, i used to use them alot for smallies but idk, just started using other baits.

1) Force myself to keep a DETAILED journal entry for every day I am on the water in 2010!!! I start this every year and only actually do it for a month or two.
2) Make more trips to Washington and Sammamish this year.
3) Catch a largemouth on an 8" + swimbait.
4) Catch a smallmouth on the King Craw. (I failed at this this fall)
5) Gain more confidence in frogs for summer largemouth.
6) Gain more confidence in punching the slop for summer largemouth.
7) Add 5 new baits I have never caught a fish on to the "confidence list" of dropshot lures for smallmouth.
7) Get in a habit of fishing tubes more frequently again.
I heard the same thing about Grimes....

1 - fish slower
