Washington Fishing

The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

This is no joke! Saw it with my own eyes today on Lake Washington. It came out from under a building that over hangs the water. It came out and stopped 10 feet from my boat and then shot back under the building. A FRICKIN MUSKY! Not a small one either. Easily over 4 foot long. I pitched a swimbait under the building and it followed it out 1 time. Then I never saw it again. I fish Lake Washington a lot and have never seen a Musky. Has anyone else seen any? This is crazy! I heard someone caught some Walleye a while back and now I saw a musky. Wow!

Thats awesome, to bad that thing didnt hit your swimbait Chris! On Sunday I saw something I had never seen as well...a perch jumping across the water like a dolphin would and right behind it was a huge largie chasing it! The perch took a hard turn under the dock and right as it came out the other side the largie just clobbered it! It was very cool, never seen anything like it first person.
The ocean also has great white sharks and tuna....it's the ocean and it's big enough to support both. Maybe it's not this part of the country that is misunderstanding. You clearly can't tell the difference in the size of Lake Washington and say Lake Superior. You following?

The great lakes has an awesome salmon fishery and a great muskie fishery hand in hand. Walleye and smallies included too. I don't understand why this part of the country does not understand that multiple species can survive and have a great fishery for more than one species in the same vody of water...

Of course the state didn't plant them in there, there are wild salmon in that system.
Obviously we have some bucket biologists dropping Tiger Musky and Walleye in Lk Wa.

Sounds like a tiger. Hopefully the state didn't decide to plant them in there. Isn't there a member on this site who is a biologist from UW? It would be a good question for her to see if she has any knowledge of this.
Hey guys..if you all are not busy on May 12th all of you are invited down to Trackside Pizza down in Puyallup. Cascade Musky Association is having our monthly meeting from 7-8:30 pm. Bruce Bolding and Jim Uehera will be there to discuss what else..this Tiger fishery. CMA has an excellent working relationship with Bruce and the rest of his crew. I can assure you that NO Tigers were ever planted by the state..EVER. If Mr. Baker has seen bunches of them then well..he hasnt said anything to anyone at the Warmwater Section of the WDFW has he? These fish will not damage the fishery on Lake Washington. Like i stated before those Pikie-minnows will take out the salmonoids before anything else does. Really..So if you wanna talk to the lead guys of the WDFW Fishery Dept come on down. I personally invite all of you and lets get educated on this ok? And thanks C-ride for bringing up this discussion. I am from the midwest myself and have seen perch,Bluegills, crappies, walleyes, largies and smallies with some trout/salmon and Pike mixed in and they all co-exist. In simple terms its kinda like the Lion King movie...so come on,get on board with the idea that Muskies will not wipe out a lake...okeedoke? oh yea as for as Washington being a little behind in fishing...back home you can fish with 3 rods for one fishing license. You do not have to pay an extra 25 bucks for an extra rod to fish with like here and on only certain lakes.Thats nuts.
I think the state is very much opposed to introducing more predator species into systems with salmon in them. That is pretty much common knowledge but I totally disagree with the logic of it.

I heard from someone that the state stopped stocking an E Wa lake with Musky because one escaped into the Columbia River system. They must not think that the White River would be suitable habitat if one did escape so they aren't worried about Tapps leaking one out.

I am really suprised that someone with nearly average intelligence would debate the point. GSAP.

I wanted to make sure you didnt overlook my post because it was so informative. You say the state would not put Tigers in there because of the "wild" salmon. Then why would they put them in Tapps which is directly connected to a river that has a salmon run that everyone is trying to protect?

I got another one and I verified it myself. Delay fished all day on Friday and didn't break a single part of his boat.
But I heard Bobby totalled your ass.

next time you see it, here is what you do. you pickup the slack really quickly, lift the bait outta the water - 360 it and slam it back down into the water. on impact you should get hit. ive seen videos and heard stories, so i know it works.

practice this once, cuz you really need to know the reaching distance you have on your rod.
This technique reminds me of a similar post from our friend from Japan. I revealed the Bill Dance double lip grip! For those of you who got to see that post before it disappeared. It was also shown on tv but it was on one of the higher channels.
Some of you are lost as hell right now, the other half need to go clean you britches!
