Austin, you will be pitchin jigs and creature baits down there at Tenmile. I went through several rods, trying to find a jig rod that I like and finally settled on a Kistler Argon 7'5" fast action heavy power rod. I really enjoy the sensitivity of this rod, especially for the price. You can find them on ebay I also like a 7' MH fast tip rod for my creature baits and lighter jigs. There are a bunch of really good flippin/ pitchin stiks on the market, Lamiglas, Loomis, St. Croix to name a few. It is all a preference thing as it is with everything else. I know a bunch of guys that like to pitch jigs with a 7' Heavy rod too. All depends on what you like. As far as a reel goes, I recommend a 7.1-1 ratio baitcaster. I like the higher speeds.
hey austin for me what is a great hard to beat fliping combo will be the g loomis 894 fliping sitck its a 7 ft 5 inch heavy or use the g loomis mossyback 894 its the same 7 ft 5 inch heavy and for the reel for me the best its a shimano calais 200 a. i hope this help

These things retailed for something like $230 when they came out. They are discontinuing this line up so you can get them cheap. Great rods! Very light and super sensitive!
