Cody , Im not sponsored by Nike so this statement 100% non bias , JUST DO IT !! lol
Dude i have fished both qualifiers in the same year just last year and i have fish the TBF 3years in a row now..
I would have to say from my personal experiences Both organizations put on a great venue PERIOD !
they are both kinda simular , only difference is that the B.A.S.S. qualifiers non boaters only compete against the other non boaters in all events reagardless of your overall standings ..
Now on the TBF side you have to compete against the entire field of anglers and you have to make the top 12 overall in order to advance too the divisionals .
On both sides you as the non boater still have full rights to half the day on that boaters T.M so that you can fish your water.
If you have never fished the Qualifiers before , your missing out man .
You get to fish with great sticks , learn tons of fishing knowledge , and possibly make it all the up to either the FLW CUP or BASSMASTER Classic .
I was "lucky" enough to make the state team last year and then went on too make it all the way up too the National team early this year at the divisionals in MT .
next year i will be fishing a tourney that could result in me getting a ticket stamped for the FLW CUP IN 2012..
So take it from lucky back seater when i say it's worth your time & money to fish BOTH !! .
Good luck bro !
I would check the schedule too. If one is say going to be on Chelan than Potholes it might work better for you than say Boardman and Washington.
Cody,
I have fished TBF as well as BASS and I think they both have their positive sides. Here's a brief run down of the tournament structure. You may already know this but here it is:
WA State Team (moves on to the Western Divisional):
BASS - Top 8 boaters/top 4 non-boaters
TBF - Top 12 anglers regardless of boater/non-boater status
Anglers that move on to Federation Championship from the Divisional:
BASS - Top angler from each state
TBF - Top 2 anglers from each state (TBF Fed. Championship is a boater/non-boater)
Federation Championship:
BASS - Top angler from each division moves on to The Bassmaster Classic
The Federation Champion wins a fully rigged Triton Boat
TBF - Top boater/non-boater from each division moves on to the BFL All American.
The Federation Champion moves on to the FLW Cup and wins the Living the Dream
Package (entries to FLW Tour, wrapped truck/boat, travel expense) and gets a pretty
decent cash prize.
You will gain a ton of experience and can't go wrong either way.
